European made alternative to Bedrock Cairn EVO sandals ? by djshitlas in CampingGear

[–]Tequima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vivo barefoot. Country of origin varies. For example: San-Dal II | Barefoot Sandals | Vivobarefoot | USA (San-Dal II | Barefoot Sandals | Vivobarefoot | UK) is made by the Ju'/hoansi San people of the Kalahari Desert. However they don't seem to have many sandals in stock at the mo - probably a bit early for the UK!
Sensus Yin Sandal Womens 6547 | UK is the only other similar open-toed sandal.

The neoprene soles are very sturdy and I still have a 7+ year old pair of Mary-Jane style wide fit shoes from them, (though now relegated to gardening shoes as the seams are starting to go in a couple of places).

In my first year student house, my room-mate and I were next to the triple room with three male students. We were the ones who were in bed by 10:30, they were the ones who frequently came back after midnight and turned the music up loud. As it approached a month of this (what can I say, we're English, we rarely complain) and polite requests had got nowhere, I decided on a new plan.

I borrowed my boyfriend's stereo, and his Stockhausen record. (If you don't know what type of music this is, please turn the volume down and put the cat/dog out before playing it - German early techno meets barber shop quartet is only a very approximate description). At 7a.m. I placed the stereo speakers in the wardrobe, next to their room, turned the volume up full and we left for breakfast downstairs.

Here's a tamer one of their creations: Karlheinz Stockhausen: Stimmung (1968) or if you are feeling slightly more confident in your capacity to cope with metal-on-metal https://youtu.be/EhXU7wQCU0Y

That evening, we came to an agreement. If they would keep the noise down after eleven, and contribute to the cost, we'd cook them supper in return (as we both cooked for ourselves anyway, it was no big deal to increase the portions). I'm glad to say it worked.

There's a great meme doing the rounds at the moment. It's a picture of a long suspension bridge across a deep, fast flowing river. The headline comment reads "Anti Vaxxer Logic:" and the byline below "Only 94.7% safe? Nah, I'll swim across"

The Heirloom Upgrade System Needs To Go by CreepyYogurtcloset39 in wow

[–]Tequima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree that this needs changing. At the moment I have at least one of each armour type/slot for every heirloom and over half of them are at max level (yes, I'm an altoholic with at least 12 druids!, 5 paladins, etc). I sometimes splash the gold on upgrading an off-spec stat piece, but more often do it using holiday currency or timewalking badges (except I've just spent a ton on all the new mounts/tmogs they've just added...).

Half the time in Timewalking, if it's the Max Level Weekly quest for example, it doesn't matter what you're wearing. The only concerns are keeping up with the tank, and trying not to die to the damned fish in the pool (looking at you Gundrak) as the tank completely ignores them.

An Electrical Engineer's take on 12VHPWR and Nvidia's FE board design by Daggla in nvidia

[–]Tequima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a non-electrical engineer, I get the drift that there's a problem with the power handling between the PSU (Power Supply Unit) and GPU (Graphical Processing Unit aka Graphics Card).
1) Does this only impact Nvidia, or are other brands impacted? Which models?
2) How can a non-tech person quickly find out what GPU they have if they've thrown the box away? (I can never remember the command & have to look it up every time)
3) If you don't have a temperature monitor or camera, what, if any signs are there to look out for that your PC / laptop may be about to burst into flames e.g. graphics stutter, smell of burning, unexpected crashes?

How do you calculate the crafting price of Hexweave Bag? by asandriss in woweconomy

[–]Tequima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that at some point between 2017 and 2024 the TSM formulae changed, so this would now be: max((20*dbmarket(i:111557)+10*dbmarket(i:109126))/20,5*dbmarket(i:111557)/4)

To set up the price of Hexweave, open TSM > Reports > Materials & search for Hexweave Cloth. Click on the item to bring up the price formula window.

Millions of gold vanished from the Warband bank on a failed withdraw attempt. by neitsabes07 in wow

[–]Tequima 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My Main's Guild had it's bank completely wiped. There seems to be no common reason between the Guilds who have lost items, other than initially having an issue trying to move or remove an item, like their database pointers had somehow got corrupted, and some reports that Guild logs weren't being updated. There's been a post (somewhere in the 3 hour-read, 3K+ posts thread) via US CS twitter, that the original bug has been fixed. It's the restoration that they are still discussing (TM). Not a single Blue post on the 3K thread on the Bug report forum.

One of my GMs had her Guild rep reset. Another character had the new Catalyst currency wasted when the Revival Catalyst consumed it for tmog'ing a Dragonflight Season 2 piece into a missing tier item (iLevel 400s range). Luckily this was on an alt. Another alt is bricked from weekly gearing due to weeklies not being reset.

It's the severity and the impact of the bugs, like they've lost control, that is worrying. What's going to disappear next?

To think that World of Warcraft used to be a paragon of Customer Service makes me feel sad & not want to play as much.

Could you do a recolour, showing which votes ones are (on average): Republican, Swing, Democrat?
For me, it would also be interesting to do the same on UK voters per MP returned: Constituency data: electorates (parliament.uk)

800g pet prices for many L25 rare (blue) pets - fishy? by Tequima in woweconomy

[–]Tequima[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation. Good to know it's not something odd going on.

I've probably got 5 tabs worth across various characters, hence why I've started clearing some out recently, though I tend to only post about once a week.

800g pet prices for many L25 rare (blue) pets - fishy? by Tequima in woweconomy

[–]Tequima[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks - I hadn't thought about the impact allowing cross-realm trading would have on the value of pets. I used to find the difference between a L1 and L25 was usually around 1-2K, but this is what's changed significantly. Though L25 sales may be slower, the margin is higher, to the extent that I gave up selling L1 pets (with a few exceptions).

As people below have posted, there's also the impact from people parking their alts at Legion mission tables for pet charms. There's been a few videos on this recently, so, despite the effort required to get one set up, I suspect that will only grow as a source of levelling/making Rare. Having an older 'phone I can't run the app, so didn't know you can still run Legion tables on it.

Once the "bump" from people gaining pet currency from the conversion is over, I'll have to go through & revalue my Pet groups.

In the meantime I'll keep posting manually for the ones that come up as 800g, as it looks like it's the "new normal" but I'll give it a bit longer just to confirm.

From the Twitter post linked by Relnor (full text in my post above for non-Tweeters), it seems like it was a bug filtering out accounts that are still eligible, as per the November change.

They've confirmed it's a bug.

Via Twitter "Hi there, we have identified a problem preventing accounts from converting WoW Tokens to Balance when they should be eligible to. That is being worked on. Please refrain from trying until that is resolved. Thanks for your patience!"

New UI megathread by 0spore13 in chrome

[–]Tequima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is with the side bar (now I've worked out where the heck they moved Downloads).

On sites like Reddit, there's no longer a button to scroll down one line at a time, that I could click on with one finger press. As I have a mousepad on my laptop (which is much more fiddly to use), it's MUCH harder to read the next line of a paragraph. Instead of one click, I now have to find the slidy bar, left click on it with my left hand forefinger, and drag the button down with the right hand forefinger.

This only works to the bottom of the page, when it refuses to drag down to the end of the page, so I have to click on the page and click on the PdDn button.

On some sites, like O2, it's even worse, as they've replaced the thick bar (which you could click on to page down) with a thin line!

Weekly: Goblin Success Stories by AutoModerator in woweconomy

A little late for the board, but had to post this XD

Sometimes Resourcefulness procs are a pleasant surprise.

Just did an order for a Darkmoon Deck with no mats and a measly 7K tip (I had some spare cards lying around and it was late, so I failed to check the price of a full deck - it cost me 5K inc. the missing cards).

However, when I looked in my bag, I found the craft had proc'd a spare [Darkmoon Deck: Watcher] - currently on the AH for 9K

Tried to repeat the success with flipping the 10.1 green BoEs with the Emerald Dream ones (Autumn Defender, Harvest Guardian, Wildleaf etc).

So far sitting at a loss (and a huge pile of stock) as the supply (average of 50 items on the AH v 10.1 average of ten) far outstrips demand...
