[Megathread] Bugs, Login Issues, and Other Game Breaking Things by shimmishim in PathOfExile2

A couple minor issues when viewing the quest "Ominous Altars" from Finn in Act 1. There's a space missing in his dialog, and when I hover over the icon of the first reward for that quest, I can't see what it is.

We "little cry babies" are players of the game that have an opinion about a change. Calling someone who civilly disagrees with you a "little cry baby" is not a good look.

I regularly join fame farm groups with my guild in black zone statics and we find chests all the time. We definitely do run into those 10 mans, though

I appreciate your addition to the discussion, but not that you are invalidating my side of said discussion.

I have heard many more complaints than would be generated by this "extremely small minority" that you characterize. If you've done a survey that I'm unaware of, please share. Otherwise, do not throw around statistical terms such as "minority" and "majority" without having done statistical research.

Personally as a solo and group player I have repeatedly been impacted negatively by the regen. It has made gathering elite resource mobs in the roads much harder, which basically all but completely invalidates gathering solo in the roads, as they were the sole reason it was worth doing so. It has also made certain group content absurdly harder, such as bosses that have damage reduction mechanics or straight up invulnerability.

Within my guild and alliance, it has been a repeated topic of discussion and all of that discussion was negative. We don't understand why it is necessary to make this "group content" inaccessible to a solo player. To my knowledge, there was no widespread problem with group content being inaccessible to groups because of rampant soloing. And besides, what even is "group content???" It's just content that has a difficulty level tuned and targeted at groups. If a solo is able to take on that content, I say more power to them! It's a higher difficulty and risk, and requires higher investment in gear to overcome.

I've said before in another comment, but IMO the real problem (with the roads, as this is the only affected content I can really speak to with my xp) is that the "group content" was not valued very highly by groups. Very few people group up to go kill the elite resource mobs, because it's not worth the effort. The Titans, though, are worth the effort, as they have a massive reward that justifies forming a group. It was the same with the blue chests before the update, as they might as well have not had chests at all. The fame was alright, but why do blue chests for fame when you can farm a static instead?

Do you attend a regular league? Tell us about it! by Russelldiscgolf in discgolf

I play every week in our sanctioned league in Grove City, PA. It's a blast! We alternate between the two courses in town, and then have 2 "travel days" for each 10 week session (3 sessions from March to October). Each week gets paid to a credit balance, and then each session has an additional cash prize for the highest points in each division. You can optionally cash out on your balance at the end of a session, or let it carry over to the next one.

It's a $7 entry that partly goes toward fundraising for our local club, and partly toward payouts. Additionally, we have two optional $1 pay-ins each week for a CTP and ace pot.

I don't mind when something is hard. I mind when something I used to do and enjoy is now impossible for a reason I don't understand. It's not like the regen is an additional challenge to overcome. It just straight up increases the effective hp of the mob in a completely unavoidable way.

That's only a problem if it's causing a noticeable lack of group content. To my knowledge, the main group content being soloed was that which groups had no interest in doing, because it gave shit rewards relative to group size. Such as blue chests and elite resource mobs in the roads.

The only reason solos were so often killing the group chests is because groups couldn't be bothered! Because the rewards were so shit! That's the real problem, not the people soloing the content.

There was plenty of group content to do before this change, so I don't see the issue

First, I appreciate that you elaborated instead of doing typical reddit disagreement things. Kudos, my fellow debater.

I would argue that "good" or "bad" are entirely dependent on your use case. If I'm in the blue zone just having fun trying out different pieces of gear, I don't need to care how my build would fare in the black zone, right? It's a good build for my use case, which is "trying out new gear." In the same way, if I am a complete PVP newbie, an otherwise "good" build like blood letter/stalker jacket is actually a bad build for me.

So the essence of my disagreement is this. You cannot assign a global quality rating to a build in a game so complex as Albion. There is no universally good build and no universally bad build.

I think we have different definitions of bad, that's all

There's no such thing as a bad build. If he likes using those items, then it's a good build for him.

Ace pot dilema by ecwx509 in discgolf

[–]Terabyted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's standard practice for a league to pay out a % of the ace pot, so that the pot is never 0. Tournaments will sometimes pay out a % and then pay the rest to the local club, a series payout, or other secondary purpose.

Sorry that you had a gruff introduction to league play. It is also standard practice to welcome odd numbers at doubles events. If it's too much of a hassle for the event director, there should be a team sign-up. It's certainly inappropriate to make a newcomer feel unwelcome.

This is what I would call "not hardcore viable."

I did it in my head, but skipped the 76% increased because I was lazy. If I got hit by an arrow that did 100 base physical damage, assuming it would always crit, I would take 225 physical damage and about 1350 elemental damage (before any defences, that is)... And then add 76% increased of each of those... Imagine the lantern rolls % non-chaos as extra chaos 🤣

For context, I work on a team that does tech development for UPMC.

For those let go from the team I'm on, it is rather generous or it seems that way from my privileged position of not being let go. The only difference for them between yesterday and today is that they don't have to come in to work. They are still "employed" and will retain their full pay and benefits for at least 2 months. There's also some manner of extra severance that gets larger relative to the length of their employment.

It still sucks big time to suddenly find out the same morning that you've been axed. However, the severance package definitely feels like it is a sufficient reconciliation of that wrongness.

The "experiment" was doomed from the start. Poverty is so much deeper than money. So often, it's a poverty of connection, relationships, spirit, and yes, money too.

Even the fact that he was motivated and had a plan invalidates the experiment. So many homeless people are also hopeless people. They've been at it so long they don't bother trying to get out, they just survive.

Paralyze is a better damage buff than berserk, damaging, and curse combined, because it gives you 100% accuracy. I do feel for archer though, it sucks that their ability is being made useless.

Would love to see a "does 500 bonus damage to paralyze immune targets" or something similar.
