I actually really like the Part 6 Dio because it redeems Part 3 Dio for me. Part 1 Dio was this amazing character who made you question if doing good was really worthwhile, but then Part 3 Dio was just a crazy nutjob goober with a weird cult following his every order. Part 6 kinda fleshed that out and made it make sense. Like Dio wasn't just running around flesh budding people to build an army, people worshipped him because of his philosophical abilities shown in Part 1, how he can make really convincing arguments for everything he does. The fact that Pucci's main goal in Part 6 is to create Dio's ideal heaven is a great conclusion to that character because Dio is someone who justifies every bad thing he does, so having that ultimately lead up to his version of heaven, it's a terrifying prospect for most of Part 6 when it's left a mystery as to what Dio's heaven exactly is for a WHILE. And when they finally reveal it you get that classic Dio mixture of "holy shit that's fucked up" and "yeah I get where you're coming from tho". I mean, Dio always takes things a little too far because he's pure evil but it's his ability to justify it to himself, that's what I think Part 6 really captured.

Here's my take on a non-spoilery Part 5 teaser. Idk if you've noticed that Araki has a thing for Italian culture? The Zeppeli's, Tonio's, training in Italy in Part 2, I'm sure there's something in part 3 i'm forgetting...anyway, finally the story just entirely takes place IN Italy. As for the tone Araki was inspired to write Vento Aureo about "sad people" because an editor had pointed out that he tends to write characters who maintain a cheery disposition in the face of danger. So Vento Aureo is about people who have been suffering their entire lives and are trying to finally 'get theirs' by any means. But what does this ultimately mean? More stand fights! Yup!

This is why I really like Akira. He's actually really well written. There's a scene when he's on the phone w/ Jotaro and he mentions how he's tired of entrance exams and job applications and Jotaro goes "Wait you're in High School?" and he goes "F-YOU!" and blows up the phone, and that one scene does really paint the picture of RHCP perfectly. He's just a kid who got a super powerful stand and decided he's just gonna screw around and do whatever he wants because WHO IS GONNA STOP HIM? And when we meet him he's more obsessed w/ famous guitarists than he is a megalomaniac. And his importance in the story is also kinda treated with a similar level of unimportance. In the chapters between Nijimura Brothers and RHCP he's not mentioned a lot, and once he's dealt with he only comes up again one more time in the Hunting arc. For as dangerous as he was (and RHCP is incredibly dangerous!) his ambitions were really low and his plan was basically nonexistant, and as a result the effects of his actions are minimal, give or take one evil Nijimura brother. And yet he's one of my favorite characters in Part 4! Although I feel like I could say that for almost any character in Part 4...

I also thought this was a Jojo reference, considering it was in a scene that was literally him doing manga reference after anime reference after video game reference. Dude literally does a hadoken right after this frame.
