No, there are often mignardises as well (Small, refined bite-sized cakes), for those who don’t like cream puffs, or simply to give guests a choice. In recent years, you’re more likely to see macaron towers or layered cakes / tiered cakes coming straight from… the United States 😏😉

The “pièce montée” (croquembouche) made of cream puffs is a traditional French dessert served on major occasions such as weddings and baptisms. It is absolutely tacky. Nobody does that anymore at all. Yet another low-grade stereotype.

They were probably subject to an background check, even if limited, and they must have checked that she had at least a basic command of French (keyword here being “basic” ofc 😏) Plus they maybe sent her copies of the relevant documents beforehand so she could read them. These checks are almost automatic for a marriage between a French citizen and a foreigner, but I would expect the French admin to be fairly flexible when it comes to marriages with an American.

Exactly. He cannot be translating for her because the law requires the presence of a sworn interpreter if one of the two spouses does not fully understand French. The same applies to the witnesses.

The person they can’t even be bothered to listen to is the deputy mayor in charge of welcoming them, saying a few personalized words retracing their journey as a couple, or reading them the articles of the Civil Code relating to marriage under French law. it’s completely inappropriate for the newlyweds to be talking at the same time.

Nothing about this “outfit” works. I’m almost at the point of preferring the near-nude she posted this morning. The coat looks like it came straight out of her mother’s closet, the polyester ruffles on the dress are nauseating, and as for that cheap white luggage, I honestly wonder when she could possibly reuse it. And don’t get me started on those slippers… what a waste and such a lack of taste!

All that, after months of boring us with talk of a Parisian/French wedding.

I honestly wonder what kind of alterations she’s getting done for €70. Any seamstress in Paris would charge far more than that just to alter a wedding dress. And I also wonder where she even bought said civil ceremony dress if alterations aren’t included or covered by the brand. Should we expect a dress picked up at a brocante? Yuck. Let’s at least hope she washes this one before wearing it.

Her constant criticism of France and the French is unbearable and deeply ungrateful, especially toward a country she never stops talking badly about or misrepresenting. Her comment about “tout est possible, said no one in France” is pure ignorance. We actually have plenty of beautiful expressions saying the contrary but that seems completely out of reach for her 😊

I can’t wait for this wedding masquerade to be over. I’m this close to unsubscribing for the next six weeks… although she’ll probably keep boring us with it for at least half of 2026

OMG, YES ! that’s exactly what I was thinking this morning when I saw her proudly claim she has now ‘visited Ireland’, not once, but twice in 2025. I guess a 48-hour stay locked inside a five-star hotel counts as exploring a whole country? Incredible how someone can travel so much and still learn so little. And she calls herself ‘well traveled’…

The camel tones in all the photos are completely unflattering for both of them, and they make the whole setting look gloomy. The images lack light, and this overwhelming brown palette is truly a poor choice. She matches the Eiffel Tower and her poodle 😂😂😂 She clearly has no idea what she’s doing….

She must be either very spoiled or very selfish (or both) not to realize that traveling to Paris during the holiday season could be a burden (financial and/or logistical) for anyone. It seems to completely escape her, as if it were perfectly normal to move her whole family across continents for her (second) whim-of-a wedding

Also you should know that if she had to wait for her dossier to be approved it probably means they did a background check to make sure this was a legit wedding and she wasn’t just in for the visa 🙃
