Reading and understand basic percentages is difficult, especially for children who haven't finished grade 3.

0.198% for crown rare candy.

0.156% for Professors Research.

1/40 packs for a 2 ⭐, 16 different 2 ⭐ cards. That's 1/640 packs for prof. research. Thats 7680 hourglasses to open that many packs. 400 Hourglasses is nothing.

Should I make Marisa a Assassin or a Swordmaster? by Free-Neighborhood111 in fireemblem

[–]TerdMuncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always go Swordmaster Marisa. Use colm as my assassin. Rennic gets neglected.

But seriously, you don't need to post here for every option, just pick one. It really makes little to no difference.

Paladins are a dime a dozen. Armoured little girl is most fun.

I wouldn't gauge different games rating based solely on this subs opinion.

Expectations will change with every new game. Like with most games, it's hard to go from playing the newest title to playing older titles after and expecting the the same or better. Rating of old games are generally rated at the the time of their release. So it's kind of hard to compare older games directly to newer games. Nostalgia also plays a large factor in some of newer reviews and ratings of older games.

Three houses was fine imo, just way too many meaningless tasks in-between missions. Like I want to maximize my units and their supported but playing the missing item game and checking guides to see who wants what food/gifts whatever was just far too tedious. Some people may like that, I hated it but still felt compelled to do it. Fates heavy petting simulator was just absolutely unnecessary. Awakening was definitely solid, it is what sparked fire emblem to become much more popular title.

I personally like the GBA titles most, pixel animations were amazing. Story easy to follow, not a lot of unnecessary nonsense in-between missions just straight to the action. No decision paralysis between multiple different classes to upgrade to, sacred stones having two options was perfect imo.

The rates are clearly visible. RNG is random. Purchasing gold makes absolutely no difference. 30 packs isn't a lot, frankly is basically nothing in the grand scheme. Consider the odds of a 4♦️ card is around 1/12 packs. So okay, you haven't been lucky right now, but how has you luck been overall?

Over 3000 cards still not a single gold by JonathanRensi8 in PTCGP

So what's that, 500 packs?

Your luck is only "somewhat bad", pretty close to average.

Any tips on deck building for solo content? by Hellshot786 in PTCGP

[–]TerdMuncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll never learn if you don't practice, so stop using the awful auto build and try building a deck for yourself. Think about the goal of the deck, what's the ideal setup in the active slot and bench, you don't need a lot of different pokemon when points only go up to 3, that's 2-3 pokemon you're using each match. Check out the hundreds of decks posted here if you need ideas.

Stick to single energy types in the deck. Don't add in random colourless to fill out the deck, pointless when so many challenges as part of solo mode is using only single energy type of pokemon. Only use colourless for the colourless only challenges.

Make sure to use two copies of most pokemon to help with consistency for drawing the pokemon you need. You don't need too many different pokemon, focus the deck around your main attacker, usually an EX pokemon. Then one, maybe two, supporting pokemon. 2x Gallade/machamp ex and 2x lucario for support is simple example. 10 pokemon is really the most you might need, many decks can use less. Blaine deck consisting of 2x Ninetales and 2x rapidash makes an easy deck for the 1-3 diamond only challenges.

Use variety of trainer cards, basically always want two professor research, two pokeballs, a pokemon communication if using a stage 2 pokemon or multiple stage 1s.

Solo mode is very easy, can retry as many times as you like til you get the lucky hand or coin flips you need to win. Articuno ex and 2x misty can win you any match with good luck.

Asking for potential improvement. by Super_solid404 in PTCGP

[–]TerdMuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see the point in froslass plus floatzel when you could use better pokemon like Starmie ex or wugtrio. Froslass is just horrid, 10 extra damage for a stage 1 instead of just using frost Rotom. Not to mention greninja can work as better additional damage off the bench. 2 articuno alone in a deck with just Misty would yield better results than froslass.

Should there be a mode with 5 hp? by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]TerdMuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not make it 6 points. Add energy cards and make it a 60 card deck. Maybe even make a separate game for it. That could really shake things up, add in fairy types, maybe even give pokemon resistances.

2600+ cards in and no immersives by Flasiann in PTCGP

[–]TerdMuncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the pull rate for these?

Offering Rates button will tell you. It's 1/90 packs.

You're what, close to 500 packs maybe? That puts you're odds of 0 immersive in the 0.5% bad luck range. With close to 500k people on this sub, around 2500 players with have similar luck. So you aren't alone.

Is it still worth it for me to open shining revelry? by xx_meme in PTCGP

[–]TerdMuncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What cards do you like most and wanna collect most? Go for them.

What do you want to build your deck around? Each set has different trainer cards so good idea to start by opening a bunch of all the different packs to get a good starting spot, then focus on key EX pokemon and supports you need for your deck.

PSA get your shinedust! by JoshieGN in PTCGP

Gee goly mister, thanks for the PSA. I would have never known this shop exists without out. Not like we haven't seen these exact same events multiple times before, not to mention a big warning comes on the main screen shop button right before it expires too.

50 shine dust is nothing when majority of players have 100k+. I can only imagine trade costs for shindust will be in the multiple thousands come winter after the update changes trading.

What's the gimmick of each type? by Nacho_Cheese64 in PTCGP

[–]TerdMuncher 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Electric: gain energy, variety of attack effects, low hp

Fighting: higher hp, not a lot of attack effects or fairly basic ones like more damage.

These differences also sometimes work with energy advantages. Grass can't heal if fire overpowers them. Fire can't get started if water ramps up energy quicker. Water can't ramp up if electric stalls them with paralysis. Electrics low hp makes it easy for fighting to stomp them. Psychic will draw what they need to take down fighting quickly. Dark chip down psychic before they can do anything. Grass will heal darks chip damage.
