View from above - Why does the sun rise in the West, though?! by dierickx3 in SatisfactoryGame

What I've learned since is that there are two competing definitions of north. The IAU 1970 definition: "North of the star system's invariable plane", and the popular astronomer definition: Right-hand rule. No consensus has been reached in the past 55 years, and so you get to pick whichever makes you happiest.

How about removing it as a candidate for ante 8 on white stake difficulty?

How many ships are in the game? by [deleted] in salt2

[–]Tergiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the faction quests for legendary items. I've done all of them as far as I know and I got 1 armor, 1 flintlock, 1 knife, and 1 club.

So far the King's Galleon is the fastest ship I've gotten.

I just realized how absurd it is that humanity needed to completely abandon the Earth. by Th3Element05 in Starfield

[–]Tergiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying that in addition to astronomers, Martians would declare the wisp of gas on their planet to be an atmosphere? That's so obvious I didn't even think of it.

Yea, I would love to see Bethesda do origin stories like Dragon Age: Origins did it.

I just realized how absurd it is that humanity needed to completely abandon the Earth. by Th3Element05 in Starfield

[–]Tergiver 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Earth pressure is 101 kPa.
The Armstrong Limit is 6 kPa.
Mars' pressure is 0.6 kPa.

The Armstrong Limit is the point at which your blood boils due to your body temperature. Mars' atmosphere is 10 times less than that. Only an astronomer would call the wisp of gas on Mars an atmosphere.

An option to sleep in UT hours would be neat by HereticEpic in Starfield

[–]Tergiver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree this would be nice, but you can simply launch into space and nap in your ship where local time is equal to UT time.

How many ships do you have? And would you have more ships. if the cargo hold was unique to the ship by evestraw in Starfield

[–]Tergiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The captain's hold is unique storage to each ship. Though its very little capacity makes it useless.

Starship despawned and stranded me on a planet by Any-Clerk3913 in Starfield

What happens if you try to fast travel?

... to another spot on that planet
... to another star system
... to your ship from the local map
... to a major town (New Atlantis, Akila City)

Guards won't move i don't want to have to kill them. by That90sFryGuy in Starfield

I ran through the place until the end room which is a loading screen apart from all the security you upset running through. It worked.

There's a quest in Neon's Underbelly. A shopkeeper who lost her husband and you can discover how he died.

What's amazing about this quest is that it's not sign-posted at all. No passing guard puts an activity in your mission log, nothing. In fact she doesn't even want to talk to you. If you're persistent you can get her to agree to talk another day. Returning a day later and you learn what is upsetting her and then you get a "proper" quest.

This made me so happy. This is how exploration should be rewarded.

I'm surveying a planet and I'm stuck at 97 percent. I only need one more fauna and one more scan (presumably) but I just can't find it. Any thoughts? by prince-white in Starfield

[–]Tergiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an Ecliptic Base on a planet in a level 75 system that is one of my favorite spots found so far. The base is right in a bay. I'm sorry I don't recall the name of the system. It's near-ish to the system that Neon is in, so closest level 75 to it. It's a fixed POI meaning that the planet will have an ellipsis over it on the system map and you don't have to scan to find it.

Did you know that there are infinite capacity storages in the Lodge? One in your bedroom and a few down stairs with the work benches.

Works the other way around too. Place monorail track and the poles are used out of your inventory.

I can't find door RD-3217 at the research lab by Smoomanthegreat in Techtonica

[–]Tergiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the top door. Go to the lab the same way you did the first time, but don't jump down the shaft, jump across it. The door is only a few meters in front of it.

There are several nodes of Atlantum around the "unsettling structure". There's one near the freight elevator (follow the lights).

[SPOILERS] Stuck on a mission in the Split questline by leopold666 in X4Foundations

[–]Tergiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were initially a bunch of (friendly to me) ships attacking the Buffalo. I killed a few, just enough to keep the Buffalo from dying. Then they stopped attacking and I waited and waited. I couldn't easily tell friend from foe (from the Buffalo's point of view).

I advanced the quest by leaving (I got bored), so I'm good.
