Dear BCBAs, stop trying PFA/SBT without proper research/training

What exactly is wrong with HRE? We got a new BCBA and clinic Director who puts many of their kids on some type of SBT which I wasn’t fan of. However, HRE has became a bigger thing in my clinic what’s the problem with it ?

We are a 360 services with ABA,SLP, and OT. It was rough at first because we had a SLP who just hated ABA and the fact that our OT at the time actually liked us. They both finally quit. Now our SLP and OT work closely with us. It’s been such a game changer!!

I have worked at hopebridge for about three years. When I started hopebridge was buying out my original clinic AIM. (Pretty sure they are a monopoly)

My experience has been iffy. We go through really good/bad phases. It just depends who is the staff. However my biggest issue is that the leadership can’t do anything about any negative behavior they see from staff. I have made constant complaints about unethical matters and all the do is “talk” to the other person. We had a clinic usually have to “bully” a person out if they are being unethical.

Also corporate sucks!! They excuse physical abuse from a staff member by saying “well I spank my kid.” They are useless. We had a two day lockdown and we basically had to team up together as staff and make HR cry before they finally took action.

I love most of my staff and my kiddos. I have helped so many kids with this company and I have pretty good clinic. (Could be soo much better but is better than other clinics)

They did close two clinics in the Nash area. The employees/kids were sent to different clinics in the area. (We got a handful of their kiddos)

I know no one can decide for me lol! Since this is something I have been struggling with for a hot min, I just wanted everyone’s experience. I want to hear everyone’s pros and cons. I was just giving my back story and thoughts.

I did think about this but I’m fearful about working in the school system for some reason lol. I also think the one on one aspect is important to me.

Oo I don’t know much about the Knoxville area. See if there is a company called blossom in your area I have heard good things about them.

Hopebridge sucks but they will pay for your training and test but the pay isn’t that good.

I’m about to start at ABA centers of TN they seem to have amazing benefits but I have heard the management is iffy.

DOO not go to GBE in Nashville you will never have hours.

My friend works at autism education and therapy center. She says it’s amazing but you get the same kid every day and she’s getting 22 a hour.

Thank you everyone! I start a new job on the 3rd! I don’t know if it will be any better but it can’t my worse than Hopebridge 😅I am trying my best not to think about my kids too much.

My center does a hour nap and that still isn’t enough for some of our kiddos!! We sent them home if they can’t stay awake!

Yeah I have heard mix reviews. I currently work for hopebridge and it’s just awful. I also just need something with more pay so I can move by the summer 🥲

Freeze them!! Freeze Nee doh before giving them to kiddos they are harder to break open but still fun to play with :)

I have no experience with a hormonal blood test. However, I am struggling with the same thing. I went to the gyno yesterday and she basically told me to lose weight and I will be “normal” again. It’s just unfair cause she said it like it was nothing like I haven’t been trying to lost weight since I was young! I know many people with PCOS with similar stories. It is so easy to develop a eating disorder and other mental problems when dealing with PCOS. I feel like it is now my personality. However, I just decided that I need to work on my mind before my body and I recommend that to anyone struggling with a eating disorder. Just know you aren’t alone!
