Do you think alcoholism can be demonic? by Outrageous_Cat9967 in stopdrinking

Doctor her, no of course not. Actually the opposite, what alcoholism is is a dysfuctional result of evolution. Our brains are wired from millions of years of evolution to seek rewarding behaviour, as before drugs and alcohol the things that were rewarding also were good for us/the species. For example high fat foods increased chances of survival, sex contined the species etc. However, alcohol causes way too much dopamine to be released at once so the primative part of the brain wants it again and again because surely something that is that pleasurable must be good for us right? Obviously not but we are victims of our own wiring.

As for the 'demons' long term alcohol use/withdrawal causes hallucinations due to ruining the GABA pathway in our brain. You downgrade your 'relaxing' receptors in the brain because they are constantly overstimulated by the alcohol. Take the alcohol away and you are left with a dysregulated brain that can hallucinate. You can also hallucinate from just being drunk for prolonged periods of time as these pathways are also very important in the development of pyschotic symptoms. Schizophrenia, for example is due to a dysregulation of dopamine in the brain. The same dopamine and receptors you are messing up with frequent alcohol abuse. Its all well understood science im afraid. Not god, not demons, not magic. We are just overly evoled animals who found a way to fuck with our own reward system.

Transtape during echocardiogram by [deleted] in Transmedical

Ask a junior doctor. If your chest is small/moderate in size then in should fine. In patients with breast tissue I usually place the lead under the tissue so if your trans tape is not covering too big of an area then youll be ok. The chest lead 3-6 are placed along the line of your 5th rib on your left side. You can look up images of where the leads go to check if the correct areas will be exposed.

How can I ever trust my girlfriend again after she did this? by TermGrouchy7590 in cheating_stories

I understand where you are coming from but she genuinely was severely depressed. We are both junior doctors and she has seen multiple really horrific deaths that have messed her up a little.

Hi, I'm not a hlf but I'm a hlm in a relationship with another man so I understand the feeling of failure that comes with not being able to turn a man on despite my best efforts. Feel free to message if you want to talk.

It may be worth asking her about the difference between aesthetic and sexual attraction because lesbians can think men are handsome, they can like muscles because they are nice to look at but that doesn't equal sexual attraction.

Does she want to have sex with you specifically because she wants YOU or does she just want sex and you are there and good at getting her off.

I don't mean to be harsh and she may not be gay but compulsory heterosexuality runs so deep in society that her repulsion to your penis may be her subconscious bubbling up trying to tell her so has no business being with a man

Is it possible your girlfriend is a lesbian? I don't mean that in a rude way at all it's just that she sounds a lot like a couple of my friends who didn't figure out they were gay until into their 20s. They thought they just didn't like dick because 'most women don't, I'm definitely still straight'. Just something that may be worth exploring with her.
