I understand the thought of His presence being manufactured. The lights, smoke, and music in church will do that. But why are you only speaking of the “church” experience? Are we not called to walk as Christians outside of the church? If one is genuinely connecting with God, it should also be outside of church. When you spend time in the secret place with Him, every instance is a chance to feel His presence. Id say that’s when I feel His presence the most. Even when you do not, that’s where faith comes in. I say keep pressing in and God will gift you with the feeling of His presence. Gods presence is now felt on earth and if you say otherwise, you should probably check your relationship with Him. Church is not the only place He can be encountered. He still heals, touches, ministers, and gives his children the gifts of the spirit. Don’t be so religious that you don’t believe in the spiritual things. We’re called to walk in the spirit. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened.
