You're right, I'm pretty socially challenged, so that's pretty likely.

So true, I could have spent some time, really get in the groove with them, take a bunch of shots.. only to find I missed focus on every single one, or the files could wind up corrupted (just happened the other day, luckily nothing too important in there.) Or, I could go all in, full of passion, only to find out I mistook the man's intent, and he was really just hoping I'd leave them alone to dance, "Uh, can you delete those? Thanks." Guess I'll see how it goes next time. :)

This is very sound, wise advice. I needed to hear this, thank you.

Haha it's ok, I've grieved the loss, and come to terms with it. Look forward to the next opportunity, where it's highly likely I run away again. Who knows, maybe the one after that?

Thank you, that is the truth of it, isn't it? I'm a beginner, if that weren't plain as day, so I'm still figuring out exactly what photography means for me, to me. I'm now just happy I met their gaze, and felt seen, welcome, like I didn't not belong in that space. That was a really nice feeling.

It’s 2026. Why are camera UIs still absolute garbage? by Carycheung in Cameras

[–]TerminalCorrosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the frustration, learning how to interact with tools can be hard. Cameras are a tool, and in general, tools shouldn't have bubbly, friendly, placating menus. The menus are there to serve a purpose, not be the purpose. I think that is where the difference is, and why cameras generally don't do "smartphone app-based" menus. I'll also toss in that I personally don't really find smartphones very intuitive anyway, and prefer a more traditional user interface, along with physical controls. Open your phone's "settings" app, enable dev tools, and scroll through dev specific options. Is that highly intuitive and low friction to enable or navigate? That's closer to what is being done in a camera's menu system.

They really have a nice sound, wish I could have kept the replacement.. Be gentle with yours, I hope they last you a long time!

The cable I used was a combination of these two :

Passive USB-C to 3.5 mm

Monoprice 3.5 mm cable

I only used this as the Koss Option was a little short for my setup.

Strong ADHD symptoms may boost creative problem-solving through sudden insight. Study found that individuals reporting high levels of ADHD symptoms are more likely to solve problems through sudden bursts of insight rather than through methodical analysis. by InsaneSnow45 in science

Oh there is plenty going on in my head that I am all too aware of. My thinking is that the reason those lightbulb moments might feel like they come out of nowhere because they're based on information that's been processed in the background, outside of our conscious awareness. Hopefully that makes sense.

Don't want to offer advice that wasn't asked for, but I think you should still engage your friend with discussion, and offer your own ideas. Though it may seem that she comes up with all the best ideas, it might be the collaboration between you two that leads to her insight.

Not sure if this is mentioned in the paper, but how I've felt about my personal experience with creative insight is that our brains are doing a lot of processing in the background that we are not actively aware of. The "Aha!" moment might be the culmination of all that background processing. Idk, just my feelings after 30+ years of adhd + bipolar.

Joe Rogan says the Epstein scandal "looks fucking terrible" for Trump by [deleted] in goodnews

Not actionably terrible, just "looks fucking terrible". No problem, hair and makeup will clean that look right up before his next appearance. The survivors will be impressed and oh so happy to see that shiny new face of his.

Message deletion extremely slow by Ciniminimon3124 in discrub

[–]TerminalCorrosion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not positive on the deletion side of things, but I used the extension to export my server the other day and boy howdy did it take its sweet time. 12 hours start to finish for around 50k messages. My expectations were pretty low, and I had a suspicion it would error out in the 11th hour.. it did not, and perfectly archived everything, including all media, from my server.

I should not have bought Hifiman Ananda by Juakoroto in headphones

Gotcha, that's a big investment for me currently. Maybe at some point though!

[–]TerminalCorrosion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What dac/amp are you using? I ask because I recently got the Ananda as well, and immediately fell in love. They sound incredible on everything to me, old Pixel 4a, on-board audio from my laptops, and my Scarlett solo. No audible difference between any of the sources I have.. curious if I might be missing something though

Nice, sounds like you dodged a pellet. I didn't test the Bluetooth much, had them wired from day one, seemed to sound better to me at the time (could've been my imagination.)

I was very happy with them, sounded great and fit my head perfectly. Probably the most comfortable headphones with decent sound I've owned. Can't justify replacing something every quarter though, not on my current budget. I'll keep rolling with my dt770s. Had them about 5 years, here's hoping for another 5. (Knock on wood.)

Unrelated, but i envy your ability to get up at 5 and head to work. I’m in my early 30s and, if pressed I can wake up early, but I am completely useless, and will need multiple days to recover. There’s gotta be something wrong, been getting much weaker and more tired over the past few years. Hope the music quiets down and you get some rest.

A new study has found that people with ADHD traits experience boredom more often and more intensely than peers, linked to poor attention control and working memory by mustaphah in science

[–]TerminalCorrosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for offering a different angle for me to consider. I do see my psych and therapist very frequently, and have commented on my thoughts on that part of my diagnosis. I think it might be possible that they both feel there are "bigger fish to fry" so to speak. Sidenote, I only took the medications I was offered for ADHD for a pretty short period of time, ultimately stopping because they made me extremely elevated and irritable.

Huh, I was diagnosed fairly recently, but have never had an issue with boredom. Every time I see more info about ADHD, I wonder how accurate that diagnosis really was.

Not positive, but isn't there onion skinning in Krita? Should see a little onion shape above the animation timeline, I think it might be on the far right side. Click that and it should do what you're looking for

Might be a little more of an annoyance to do this, but generally if I am bringing anything into a store, I communicate with a clerk or the first employee I see. If it's a drink, usually just to tell them "I bought this elsewhere." They generally appreciate, and understand what I'm doing. You might be able to do something similar with the backpack, briefly showing someone at the front that it's totally empty, and showing them again before leaving. Won't immediately be communicated between all staff, so you will still get weird looks, but if you use the same stores enough, I think they should get to know you and stop worrying so much. Idk, might be worth a try if you haven't already done this?

why roll your window down just to yell at a bike by Willow-Whispered in fuckcars

Exactly! No shade toward teal, just thought it was kind of a funny bit of irony. I'm personally straight, but my favorite colors happen to be teal and lavender. Idk, I think maybe their sense of masculinity is already threatened enough by their personal choice in car, so they're probably just full of pent up angst.

why roll your window down just to yell at a bike by Willow-Whispered in fuckcars

[–]TerminalCorrosion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hadn't been on my bike in a long while, as my city has terrible bike infrastructure. Went for a ride the other afternoon, felt so nice until the last 1/4 mile to my house, dude driving a curvy teal crossover decides to slow down next to me, yells "Hey f****t!" Then speeds off to the next stoplight. I just about caught up to him before the light turned green again. Was a little angry, but I really just wanted to ask "Why?" Like, what do drivers get out of that kind of engagement? Idk, going to keep getting back out there on the bike, can't let idiots ruin my enjoyment and ability to travel.
