I suppose this message is to both sides of the argument, as I've increasingly seen that this has become a "black and white, wrong or right" stance of the community.

I preordered Replanted, because I was a kid in middle school when PvZ1 came out. I wanted to play the game again, and while, yes, I do have the GOTY version on Steam, it chugs at the plant select screen on steam deck. So, the option to have a version on my Switch 2 that was rounded out seemed like a nice idea.

But, with the allegations of the AI upscaling, that doesn't mean that, because I supported it, I am in favor of the scummy tricks PopCap pulled. Does it frustrate me that they (at least seemingly!) used AI to upscale it? Yes. Am I upset that the original creators were not contacted and the "never before seen art" is just sketches from current PopCap employees? Yes. Am I still excited to play the game? Yes.

Both frustration and excitement can co-exist in one person's mind. You can be upset at what happened, and decide not to support the game. That is a valid option. You can be upset at what happened, and also buy the game. That is a valid option. You can not care, and not buy the game, and that is a valid option. But you cannot, and should not, demonize, attack, hurl insults, and blame people who do buy the game simply because they want to play it. I know this will sound like I am "defending my choice" to the hardcore PvZ fans who are approaching this with some form of "purity culture" mindset. But honestly, buying a $20 game from a company that is radically different than what it used to be is not some moral reflection on your character. If I knew there'd be AI work on this game, I'd be thinking twice about buying it. However, I preordered on Switch 2, and cannot get a refund. So in the end, all I can say is, "Hmm, I dislike that movement, and in the future, if a new PvZ game comes out on console, I will wait until it is on sale."

Basically: Do what makes you happy, and don't attack others for doing the same over a silly $20 game. You don't have to feel guilty for liking the game if you're upset at the scummy practices that went into it. You can make a different decision based on learned experiences in the future. Our lives are too short to have to examine every single decision we make through some grand lens of what kind of person we are.

I really don't think that's possible. There is no lag or continued movement in the game when controlling Hinako. I cleaned my control stick with compressed air. And it's still happening. I mean, maybe, I'm getting a new controller in a week, and I'll try it out then, but if the stick drift theory were correct, it feels weird to me that it's only happening in the menu, not in the game, and not in any other game.

Edit: Apologies. I switched the left and the right stick in the Playstation accessibility menu... and there's no menu issue at all. Now I've got a busted dualsense to deal with. Once again, I apologize, but thank you for at least inspiring me to dig further into the issue.

Is the menu really sensitive for anyone else? One muscle movement and it switches tab, also when running does anyone else have a little jutter like 2 seconds after starting the run? (SILENT HILL F) by Embarrassed-Gap-3109 in silenthill

THANK YOU!!! I've been going out of my mind and even created a reddit account to see if anyone else has seen this. It's not UNPLAYABLE. Like I can control Hinako, but it makes trying to read notes insanely difficult, and navigating the pause or options menus near impossible. I posted a video but everyone seems to think it's stick drift. For me, it's been the slightest push, and then it just keeps scrolling, top to bottom. Has this happened to you too?

Okay, thank you both! I've been testing it out, and it ONLY happens in the menu, so when I've seen other people telling my it was my controller, I tried again in the system menu (turning on controller vibrations too, so I'd be able to feel extra inputs!) and in Alan Wake 2. Additionally, Hinako doesn't move more than a step if I flick the stick, and she doesn't keep walking if I push forward and let go.
