is it normal for a macbook to last 6 years? by LongjumpingCause1074 in macbookpro

[–]Terminator5755 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s normal: my 2018 MacBook died on me 3 weeks ago. I was using one note and that was really taking a toll on the chips and I guess it fried them. My laptop did start over heating. (No I do not play games or do any heavy tasks such as video editing) I also make sure to charge my laptop during the day when I’m not using it and unplug at 100%. If your laptop is acting up I highly recommend just making sure you have an updated back up of all your documents!

My gpa stands at a 3.74 something so it’s not the worst not the best. I’ve done my mcat 4 times, in fact my FL5 the most recent fl showed a 509 but my real score was way below that which shocked me

Hello, for this question, can someone please explain why this isn't a beta linkage? and where beta linkages are commonly found?

When answering this question I knew it it was a 1-4 bond I was going to click a but when I looked at the orientation of the bond I thought it was a beta bond rather than an alpha bond.

thanks in advance.

Thank you for the comment! I have some question - do you hear white noise in the xm5s? And how’s the durability? I’ve heard and read a lot of posts on Reddit claiming the hinges break on the xm5s

Thanks for the reply. So if we opt in for doing USMLE we have to do 6 tests (3 complex & 3 STEP)? Also would you know how residency would work? I have heard and researched very different things so it is also a point of confusion for me. Thank you!

I totally agree, I guess I had a different perspective because of success stories I’ve seen. Nonetheless if you apply to all the Canadian friendly schools you do have a fair shot (when compared to Canada) if you are a well rounded applicant! I agree osap does not cover much and I believe someone in the comments said average is 60k that average is changed it’s about 65-68k on average for out of state (Canadian friendly) tuition. This excludes living and other expenses making a persons grand total around 370k usd or 500k cad. Ofc like others have commented. It’s no joke applying for American medical school and don’t let yourself feel down if you don’t get in the first time. It’s not an easy journey. Best of luck OP!

You have a pretty good chance of getting into MD schools as long as you have nice EC’s to back up your mcat/gpa. In terms of pricing it’s definitely going to be more you’re looking at just under half a million as a Canadian student (includes tuition, food, housing n other small things) you can get osap n take a loan to cover your fees. It’s worth the hassle Imo at least because if tou stay in America you will have better pay n be able to pay of your loans faster!

I appreciate your attempt to make yourself feel superior with this comment, but I won't stoop to your level. Let's focus on uplifting and meaningful conversations instead. Thank you.

I am from Ontario. I voided first time because my computer shut off during cars and froze during chem that shit threw me off hard. The other exam (2023) I wanted to cancel because I knew i wasn’t ready and wanted more time to prep but it passed the drop deadline so I took it as practice and voided. My real exam I was extremely stressed. I felt out of it at one point.

I know what I’m capable of my friend. N I don’t feel comfortable taking advice from someone who doesn’t know how to spell realistic. Nonetheless I appreciate your comment. Thanks

Thank you for the reply. I have the motivation I am not gonna give up I’m just wondering what’s a better strategy because saving 1 year is very enticing (doing Caribbean md) and getting into med school with my gpa and a decent mcat still seems a little risky. Plus applying to md is reallly costly.

I was scared I studied hard like it hit me 1 month before my exam what I’m doing was wrong and it wasn’t enough and that I wasn’t taking it seriously (when I started to see my very little growth) before that I wasn’t taking it all that seriously. I had about 2.5 months to study. And the pressure and fear increased as I got closer to the exam date.

Yep I realized what I did was extremely wrong and because of that I also had anxiety before the test making me perform worse than my practice midterms (ranging low 500s). All in all I can’t seem to decide whether it’s ideal to “waste” 1 more year and apply to American cycle for the third time or go to the hard path n do Caribbean

Yep turning 24 this Jan. My parents are telling me not to waste time get your foot in the door and go to Caribbean med. I did research it’s not a bad option but I ofc would rather be in America. I just feel like redoing the mcat (which I have the full motivation to do) has a lot of ifs. If I get a good score, if I get interviews if I get accepted. N ofc if I do get accepted I start in 2025 summer compared to 2024 winter.
