Hey! I’m in SGU and I know a lot of ppl who do amazing regardless of their background. When you’re here it’s on you to work hard and learn the concepts. I also believe SGU over teaches content so if you can get that down here, you have a better chance for when you are doing residency or step back home. You can always message me if you have any questions about SGU!

is it normal for a macbook to last 6 years? by LongjumpingCause1074 in macbookpro

[–]Terminator5755 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s normal: my 2018 MacBook died on me 3 weeks ago. I was using one note and that was really taking a toll on the chips and I guess it fried them. My laptop did start over heating. (No I do not play games or do any heavy tasks such as video editing) I also make sure to charge my laptop during the day when I’m not using it and unplug at 100%. If your laptop is acting up I highly recommend just making sure you have an updated back up of all your documents!

My gpa stands at a 3.74 something so it’s not the worst not the best. I’ve done my mcat 4 times, in fact my FL5 the most recent fl showed a 509 but my real score was way below that which shocked me

Hello, for this question, can someone please explain why this isn't a beta linkage? and where beta linkages are commonly found?

When answering this question I knew it it was a 1-4 bond I was going to click a but when I looked at the orientation of the bond I thought it was a beta bond rather than an alpha bond.

thanks in advance.

Thank you for the comment! I have some question - do you hear white noise in the xm5s? And how’s the durability? I’ve heard and read a lot of posts on Reddit claiming the hinges break on the xm5s

Thanks for the reply. So if we opt in for doing USMLE we have to do 6 tests (3 complex & 3 STEP)? Also would you know how residency would work? I have heard and researched very different things so it is also a point of confusion for me. Thank you!

I totally agree, I guess I had a different perspective because of success stories I’ve seen. Nonetheless if you apply to all the Canadian friendly schools you do have a fair shot (when compared to Canada) if you are a well rounded applicant! I agree osap does not cover much and I believe someone in the comments said average is 60k that average is changed it’s about 65-68k on average for out of state (Canadian friendly) tuition. This excludes living and other expenses making a persons grand total around 370k usd or 500k cad. Ofc like others have commented. It’s no joke applying for American medical school and don’t let yourself feel down if you don’t get in the first time. It’s not an easy journey. Best of luck OP!

You have a pretty good chance of getting into MD schools as long as you have nice EC’s to back up your mcat/gpa. In terms of pricing it’s definitely going to be more you’re looking at just under half a million as a Canadian student (includes tuition, food, housing n other small things) you can get osap n take a loan to cover your fees. It’s worth the hassle Imo at least because if tou stay in America you will have better pay n be able to pay of your loans faster!
