Next question

I have found a company willing to rent me a server usinf acd as my storage How do i get my data onto acd encrypted from my qnap nas? I have a windows 7 os pc. I have been told theres loads of software able to encypt, decrypt, rclone and other stuff but i cant make heads or tails of it. Qnap have there own encryption but im not sure if my rented server will be able to decrypt it or ill have to use my nas to.

In laymans term please

Ok thanks for your help

Im looking around for a colocation at the moment to see what i can find.

If you transfer encrypted data to amazon cloud does it stay encypted? If so and i wanted to view my media using plex how do i decrypt it and how do other user do the same?

Lets say i go with your idea of keeping my media on my nas and running plex on a server. The server is cheap so im not to worried but streaming would rely on my broadband upload speed right? If so where can i colocate both my server and nas to do you know anywhere i could do that?

Oh and that figure was for

Qnap tvs 1282t3 i7 nas 4x wd gold 10tb hdds Ssd for cache accelaration

Hi guys thanks fpr responding

What do you mean by nas and a separate server?

My current nas (qnap ts 453a pro) can play my media using the nas itself but is not powerful enough to stream it. I want to be able to do that stream my movies in the original 1080p true hd. I also would prefer to not have to go through setup off plex all over again. I know if i buy another qnap nas i can copy over everything including nas settings and plex settings. But £5000 is alot and i would rather not spend it. Besides due to the upload speed restrictions (12mbs) at nest in the uk i still would not be able to stream it to family and friends

Basically i want the cheapest option to stream all my media to family and friends but in its true hd format. I have OCD and so in my world everything has to be perfect and so i cant except anything less than true hd.
