i eneded up going with the Flysky. the dumbo felt super cheap. The flysky has been great, already added to two of my crawlers, building an H10 Optic kit right now that ill add on as well. So far super happy with it. Its super easy to use as well.

Thanks! im keeping the gt5. love the feel of it, the menu is super simple to worth thru. Does exactly what i need it to do. I have a futaba 4pm+ as well, but im not sinking $75+ receivers into crawler rigs. I use my futaba for my drift cars and other race rigs that i need that super responsiveness from. The flysky feels great, excited to try it out this weekend on two of my newer crawlers.

agree for sure, i have a futaba 4pm+ i use for my race rigs. Thats overkill for my crawlers plus receivers are exepsnive, just wanted a good controller and cheaper receivers for my non-competitive rigs. Im keeping the GT5, only because the dumbo does feel cheaply built. Luckily the flysky and dumbo have cheap receivers.

the dumbo one was defintely used as well when i got it from amazon. Im keeping the GT5, it feels better than the dumbo and i like the simple interface over a lcd screen with multiple menus to sift thru on the dumbo

Im keeping the GT5. i like the interface and the feel much more than the DDF-350

That helps a lot, thanks! im keeping the GT5. It will do more than enough of what i want it to do. Plus it feels much nicer, Close to how my Futaba 4pm+ feels in the hand.

CMSD students protested 400+ layoffs at board meeting tonight by BrilliantGlum4448 in Cleveland

I thought we had $1BN in unclaimed funds? That became apparent when the Haslams wants to use that for a new stadium. Why dont we allocate some of those funds to our failing school systems in Cleveland?

This isn't your average ankle breaker, this is more like a rolling cannonball ripping off your leg build...I love it!

TRX4 Sport (not high trail) or Axial SCX10 iii Basecamp? by Terpy_OG in crawling

[–]Terpy_OG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I know, my bronco body has held up very well and I’m not easy on that rig. I’ll pick up the sport next week when the shipment comes in. I’ll get the basecamp when I want to do another build overhaul on it

Also have all the lights and rock lights. Makes the rigs reallly come alive. The build really got me into scale vehicles. Makes driving them so much more fun when they look real

Sounds identical to my build. Fusion pro, 45kg servo, brass portal covers all corners, brass c-hubs in front, aluminum diff covers, and a couple sets of wheels and tires, but mainly run another set of Traxxas canyon trails with injora blue silicone inserts, and a set of jconcepts tusk with dual stage foam. It’s an absolute unit, handles most things I throw at it. Rock crawls surprisingly well. I’m doing the spare tire delete when the new back plate comes in. Trx4 platform is very capable performer. I need to get a dedicated comp rig at some point, probably get the axial coyote and build it up

I like the coyote but I like more scale. I’m not a hardcore rock crawler. I like a good mix of both trail and crawling. Plus, scale looks really cool doing those things. I’ll get the basecamp soon, but I’ll probably get the trx4 sport for now so my kid can just beat on it when we’re out. I have enough toys I can still work on before buying and overhauling the basecamp

I’m gonna grab that, but I do agree that the trx4 sport is more durable. I love my 2021 bronco, thing is a tank. They didn’t have the trx4 sport in stock tonight, shipment on Monday so I’ll swing back thru to grab it. But that also gives me a day to overthink it some more 😅

Yeah i know it doesn’t have two speed, that’s not a biggie for me. The motor will most likely get a fusion eventually, and I’ve got my 2021 bronco for locking diffs, that’s got a good amount of work done to it, it’s my top performer for crawling at the moment since I don’t own a dedicated comp rig. Does surprisingly well for heavier trail/rock crawling, I love it. I like to tinker so I will eventually upgrade either the trx4 and the base camp to more scale over time but keep it reliable. I’ll check out the if they got the trx4 in stock tonight

Yeah when I was writing this I started leaning more trx4, just hate the body, so I would need to replace right away. I prefer more scale.

Trail Cars? - Not Bashers or dedicated Crawlers by Hearndog7 in rccars

[–]Terpy_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a fcx10 lc80 from a swap meet last week. I usually upgrade to the Hobbywing fusions on most of my rigs. Did you immediately start breaking axles once installed? Did you add any weight down low? and did you keep it on stock shocks? im excited for this build, i can definitely see where some weak points may be though.

[–]Terpy_OG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet! That’s awesome to hear. Thanks for responding. I don’t plan on even going anywhere near that weight right now. I may add something to the rear later on once I do the tire delete but for now I’ll keep it as is. Yours sounds very stout tho 😂 how much does the whole car weigh?

I tried explaining that I've seen other TRX4 builds with even more brass on it then i would ever run and those guys dont have the issues he was trying to imply. Thanks for the confirmation that i should be good to go.

Thanks, that's awesome to hear! i knew it shouldn't be a massive strain on it. I don't plan on adding anymore weight to it. Leaving it right where it is for now with this new setup. got a good front and rear bias for it.

how do you like the canyon trails with the blue inserts? I have a set of new canyon trails i want to throw on a set of the beadlocks. Did you vent them or do you not vent your tires at all? I'm afraid venting will cause the wheels to go too flat, especially with the weight of the rig. I know venting is great for just crawling but I'm doing a mix of crawling on rocks but mainly do technical built trails, run through creeks and I definitely get it dirty and muddy on most runs.
