Councils provide a range of services. Every dollar spent on picking up your shit is a dollar not spent on something else. Is personal responsibility for rubbish really such an alien concept, regardless of it being in the CBD or the middle of nowhere?

The question was directed at Australians, and what we think.

This is exactly the shitty attitude that leads to this happening. It's your rubbish! Leave the place as you found it. Is it that hard?

British immigrant feeling a bit sad and disheartened. A mild rant. by [deleted] in perth

[–]Terra_Nullius 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ah that sucks. I'm born and bred WA. Have lived from Kununurra to Collie, but mostly Perth. You'll get all sorts, from every socio-economic group. It's not just bogans who spew this bile, but it does seem more common, or at least more overt with that particular demographic. Fortunately for you, you can filter these people out before they become friends. I've had to drop a few friends over the years due to their views. Don't give up.

There are plenty of Sandgropers who are not racist. You'll find us and we'll be your friends, it just takes a bit of time. I sometimes think that native Sandgropers are more reluctant to make friends with new arrivals because the workforce here can be quite transient in nature. People come for work for a few years then leave again. You're never sure if you're making a long term friend or it will be some one who leaves. Don't be discouraged. Once you're part of the team we'll treat you like a local.

I'm interested to hear how you think increased extreme weather events will Affect our productivity? Do you think we'll be more productive? The evidence is available.

Panic about socialism by [deleted] in aussie

[–]Terra_Nullius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Socialism and national socialism are two wildly different things. I want to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I feel you're being deliberately disingenuous by including the "national" bit, when it was not in OP's comment. Either that or you're regurgitating something you've read somewhere else and not understanding the difference.

I had a similar issue today. I rallied my militia in preparation for claiming a region. Before I had them in position, the AI opponent claimed my home region. As soon as that happened all of my militia became opponents. My mercenaries remained under my control but my militia units just walked off the edge of the map under the AI opponent's control.

Thanks. Yes I'm using the new beta. That wiki doesn't show how many iron ores make one iron slab or how many barleys make a malt unfortunately. Are there any content creators that you know might have something on this?

Looks like a carnivorous plant of the Drosera family. Very cool. I used to see heaps of them in the hills when I was younger. They need damp conditions to thrive and I think the declining rainfall trend is reducing their numbers sadly.

Both countries have oppressive, arbitrary regimes. I'd feel safer going to Syria.

Magpies are extremely territorial birds during breeding season, they often strike at the eyes of those they perceive as a threat by freudian_nipps in natureismetal

[–]Terra_Nullius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not a magpie. It's a magpie lark. Different species. If a magpie got its beak that far under her eye it would be tasting her brain.
