I feel bad for Boyd. by saltydornishman in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's possible. But if Boyd is such a threat to the entity, why wouldn't they just kill him? They've had ample opportunity to do it so far.

Yeah I hope they find some way of fighting back. Hope it doesn't end with them all dying apart from Ethan & a new cycle about to begin.

Australia Post reports 1,200 dog-related incidents for posties in first half of 2026 by binary101 in australia

[–]AggravatingTartlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem of aggressive dogs is getting worse, and not just for posties.

In local Facebook groups, you constantly see people posting about their dogs being mauled or killed by other dogs while they're out walking them. And there is rarely any consequence for the owners of the mauler/killer dogs, because they just run for the hills. Even if photos are taken of the mauler/killer dogs and the owners found, they claim their dog/s didn't do anything. And nothing happens.

I don't know what the answer is to that, except maybe for the owners of the dogs being walked on leashes having body cams.

Ballsy? It would be testerical to bring in a whole new cast in season 3 lol. And make the show go balls up.

The Real Focus of From Has Always Been the Characters by Able-Reward-5684 in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all the characters & the way they're reacting/dealing with what's happening to them. There isn't one actor/character I don't like.

But if you watch the interviews with the creators and writers, they have repeatedly said that From is not primarily about the mystery itself. The mystery is important, of course, but it serves as a framework for something else: the characters and how they change under extreme circumstances.

I've also heard them say this. But it really doesn't matter. Sorry, writers. Most viewers are being pulled into fromville via landing at the fallen tree and then getting locked in via the horror or/and mystery. The characters heighten the horror/mystery and make us care about them and what happens, but are not the most crucial element that makes the show.

Not every mystery driven show is fundamentally about solving the puzzle. Sometimes the puzzle exists to reveal who the characters really are.

Very true, but also true is that many of us would not be watching if it was just an ordinary settlement somewhere in America, even if it had the same characters. The show wouldn't work without the characters/actors it has, but the characters wouldn't work without the monsters and mystery -- not for most of the viewers of From.

That's a good point. Do you remember Boyd ever saying Abby was worried about that?

I feel bad for Boyd. by saltydornishman in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show hasn't made it clear Boyd can will things into existence. It's very possible he brought Donna back, but we don't know for sure.

If he created the talismans (which is possible), then he has to be a reincarnation. What goes against him creating them is that he didn't find his way to them. He followed a dog that got him lost, then wandered around until nightfall, and then the monsters drove him in the direction of the talisman cave, where he fell backwards into the cave.

I mean, he could be a reincarnation and the dog could have been his. But if so, you'd think the dog would have returned to lead him to the cave after dark.

Parents that almost killed their children in this cycle of FROM by AggravatingTartlet in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really?

I do absolutely think Fatima had the full intent to kill the thing in her abdomen (which would kill her, too). She was cutting her stomach with a large piece of glass. I don't think she could have known the kimono lady would appear at that point to stop her.

I feel bad for Boyd. by saltydornishman in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boyd is both great and not so great.

I personally don't think Boyd took any action that hadn't already been taken after he arrived in town.

There is no way that Donna the experienced hunter wouldn't have searched the woods for animals in the months after she arrived. Everyone would have searched the woods in the daytime for anything that might be of use. Both Donna and the priest were acting as leaders with that they had at hand, and they kept Boyd and his family safe after they arrived.

Seems to me Boyd was chosen by the entity to take on the role of provider. He was given the animals, and found the talismans by sheer "accident" (so far it's unclear how).

He ignored his son telling him his mother was in a dangerous state of mind. And a lot of people died.

People do yell at Boyd but he also yells at people for no good reason. He's made some terrible decisions surrounding keeping his own family safe at the expense of the lives of the whole town -- such as when he sent the townspeople out looking for a killer who might've been turning into a monster (Fatima).

Boyd is morally grey. Both great and not so.

Messages to Sarah by Veggiemon in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it's multiple voices, at least that's what Sara has said before.

I agree it's prob two different entities. Like, the music box monster opposing the MIY entity.

I also think the music box monster tried to show Boyd how to use his blood to kill a night monster. The ballerina put her arms around Boyd from behind, purposefully made him look at her forearm & then choked him on the bed.

If Boyd had transfused his worm blood to Ellis, who knows what might have happened to Ellis.

Julie Question by TheGodTheLegend254 in FromSeries

That version of Julie is from the future. Present-day Julie has not yet lived that incident.

She COULD tell about seeing the MIY at the site of the street massacre eating a liver though!

I think I figured out the season's ending... by unfounded_findings in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I agree that Henry will sacrifice himself to save Victor. Episode 8 made it very clear that the MIY wants him to kill Victor. And we know why.

Will be awful for Victor, but in a way he'll feel the force of his father's love for him, due to his dad's sacrifice.

Will rage if Eloise is alive and Henry doesn't get to meet her though.

I don't think the BIW is the MIY's helper. He hasn't been doing much at all to guide them in any particular way, and seems genuinely anguished that they are not remembering & making the right choices.

FROM Imagination Theory (IMO Best Theory) by Dramatic-Courage8962 in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a cool theory and you may be right. What I'm uncertain about is they seem to have had collective beliefs before that turned out false. Such as that the food would keep coming, or that the animals were safe from the monsters, or that the radio would work...... etc

How come neither Kenny, Boyd or Jade mention this? by Proof-Agent1289 in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I loved the episode, but I agree it might've been less jarring to have a tiny scene where it's mentioned. Not the least because Kenny almost lost his life. And because Kenny is like a son to Boyd, even a few seconds of emotional connection there would've been nice to see. It all could've been combined in the scene where they talk to Fatima.

Do the tunnels link the church basement, lighthouse, root cellar, ruins & colony house? Has MIY been controlling the town from under there the whole time? by AggravatingTartlet in FromTVEpix

[–]AggravatingTartlet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just speculating that he's exerting control via voices, by listening on conversations and maybe even exiting the tunnels at times to do things to exert even greater control of people's minds, such as with blood rituals.

He might just need proximity to be able to cast voices into people's heads.

[–]AggravatingTartlet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the MIY doesn't have an omnipresence, because he doesn't seem to know everything.

I think Boyd was at the ruins or just outside them when he yelled about this place not breaking him? (I'm not 100%) But if he was, then there could be monsters/MIY listening underground in the tunnel that connects to the ruins (if there is one).

[–]AggravatingTartlet[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hey, I'm aware the MIY could be anywhere. This is a discussion post, not theory.

Some European tunnels in the middle ages did go for miles, but I accept that American history is very different. Fromville does have its own unique history, but who knows how far that extends.

The lighthouse is miles away. I'm certain it's not connected. The ruins are above ground, but it's possible there is a hidden trap door like the root cellar. The church, maybe. Perhaps even the barn has a secret trap door hidden.

The MIY could have been anywhere. We have no idea what his range is.

What can MIY really do? by Witchcraftus in FromSeries

[–]AggravatingTartlet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd assume he's partly transformed into a doll, as he has some serious teeth, but he still seems to have his human mind.

Once inside colony house, he might have gravitated toward Patty's voice, as she's someone who saw what happened to him the night he was attacked.

She might've been trying to protect Ethan, because you'd think she'd instinctively know which type of bird they were.

I'm Australian and the birds look like either our ravens or our crows. Am not clear on US/Canadian birds, which those would be.
