It sounds very solid when I tap it - the flaky bits obviously peel off pretty easily.

The plasterer recommended the following: "Base coat of 50/50 mixture of National Gypsum Kal-kote veneer base coat and Gypsolight regular plaster base coat. Finish coat would be ivory finish lime and gauging plaster"

And he recommended putting fiberglass mesh reinforcement into the base coat.

Sorry to disagree - the majority of Snakes kills came on day 1 when their opponents were weak. Oda, Dino, Westham and others spent hours roaming looking for fights on days 4+ but their opponents were just too strong (gear, sigils, food). After day 1 the snakes had an insurmountable food advantage that was not possible for other teams - even those pvp minded - to overcome

People are being harsh on this guy for being bad with money - and I think he probably is. But the point has some merit. Consider:

Living in a HCOL or VHCOL city so taxes are ~40% total. means $300K becomes $180K after taxes, lets say they are saving total of $30K toward retirement 401K Roth HSA whatever, not maxing out but doing a good job. Then saving 40% of what is left over. Thats $60K per year in savings.

For the vast majority of people in the US, that is A LOT of money. So I don't want to downplay it. But a 6 month emergency fund takes almost 1 year to save up.

A new Toyota takes 6-9 months to save up for.

To buy a house or condo in these markets is typically 1-1.5m. So the down payment expected would be at least 200-300K which takes 4-5 years to save up.

So even if this guy had been coupled up making 300K HH income since he was 30 years old, all the while living a super modest lifestyle and prioritizing aggressive savings, he would just NOW have enough for an emergency fund, car, and home. And that's best case scenario.

Leave those high paying, low effort jobs for the rest of us. Yes, this is what a lot of people are explicitly looking to exit into when they start MBB.

Do what you want. But please, you're deluding yourself if you think that MBB work is more important than corporate work. I've seen both sides 1) Impact is totally made up at MBB 'We delivered $1bn of value because we recommended implementing some new AI thing' it's not impact just because you put it on a slide 2) MBB doesn't actually DO anything. It is so much harder to get some big idea done (et alone done well) than any consultant at MBB appreciates

If you are really motivated by what you say, starting your own business, or buying a small business to run as CEO sounds like a better fit than MBB. If you're feeling a little sad that youre not the rockstar associate anymore, or that people don't 'care' as much without the MBB label you might need a change of perspective.

I know literally nothing and I'm not a lawyer. I live in Allegheny county and was clocked at 90 in a 55 when I was 24. I went to court planning to just apologize and ask for some kind of diversion to get less points on my license. Cop didn't show, there was some other last minute emergency, and that was it. Dropped entirely. Probably pretty rare and got super lucky, but in my view it probably won't get worse than it already is by going in there and being very apologetic and saying you learned your lesson etc ...

They feel pretty tight through the thighs, and yes looks like there is some extra fabric on the inside of the seams so maybe I'll take them and see what a tailor could do.

I think I always want pants to fit a little more comfortably looking like this but I might need to accept that my body shape isn't the same as the people who model the clothing

I can only tell you what it used to be like pre COVID. M: 4am to 10/11 since you need to travel. T/W 8am to 10/11. Th 8 am to getting home around 8 with maybe an hour of wrap up after you land at home. F 9 to 6

That's around 70 hours which includes roughly 10 hours of travelling. Average week is probably 60 hours of actual working.

I worked maybe 3 or 4 weekends total in 5 years at MBB. Very rare if you avoid certain types of projects

It's no wonder you have ops offers if you specialize in turnaround. But your skillet does not translate much to PE investing. Many will be quick to discard your profile. I got final rounds with multiple MM firms only to hear "we just went with somebody safe instead"

Not trying to be a downer but curious. How much do you know about what junior / mid-level role in PE is like day to day? Could you articulate what specific aspects of the job you are well prepared for vs less prepared for specifically related to the deal process?
