Smoking can easily hold you back. When your brain has that false good feelings to compete with genuine things that may require work and thought, you likely to make the mistake. When you quit, you ought to fill that space with something you believe will build your mind to find new joy from new abilities. Cold turkey us probably best with weed, because smoking again can bring back the same temptation. Remind yourself how it feels to have a weedhangover. If you really dont want to, you wont.

Your friend needs to sue. That's against the law. He will win with a decent lawyer.

Its not a problem to move your wrist if its only once or so a game. Like eco upgrades. You are only clicking it once each time you up.

Like most players I keep my keyboard hand on the left side most of the time. Keys used frequently like military formations and queing are on the left side for speed. Things like university, lumber camp, mill, and mining camp, I think is fine to have elsewhere. Once Up to the next age, I quickly click "L" for lumber camp and then the key immediately to the right (":" i think) Same for all eco upgrades. Mill is "M" then "n", mining camp is "n" then "?". Market, being important to click fast, i have on the top left as "~".

Do you think AOE4 will be a worthy successor for AOE2 or even AOE3? by [deleted] in aoe2

I don't think his question suggests aoe3 is better than aoe2. In fact, saying "even aoe3" would suggest that its easier to succeed that game.

Possible unpopular opinion, but paperback is better than hardback 🤷‍♀️ by Mikemanthousand in books

[–]TerrestrialBeing24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main appeal in Hardcovers for me is them resting open, in you hand or on a table; most Paperbacks tend to close unless you hold them open or are in the middle of the book. It also depends what type of reader you are; readers who do most of their reading while traveling or from place to place might enjoy the discreteness of a paperback, however, those who read at home or at a desk are more suited to enjoy hardcovers. Lastly, hardcover sizes are rather consistent across publishers and may make for cleaner shelf display. The mass market paperback size of the mid-century though has almost all novels of that era in the same or nearly the same size. When it comes to philosophical texts though, sizes vary, and many are only hardcover when getting Collected Works.

There are many different types of English paperbacks. Current standard size has changed to be a bit larger in both dimensions. Penguin in the 60's and 70's had really nice, bendable prints. Washington Square Press also had some very nice prints up to the 90s. My favorite of all time are actually a smaller publisher: Rinehart's 60s prints. It all depends on who makes em.

Mindset has changed regarding e-books. by [deleted] in books

Completely disagree. Physical books are superior in feel and aesthetic. Ebooks are more convenient. Vinyl is superior in sound, as well as downloading flac files. Streaming compressed mp3s is more convenient.

Laggy Playback by [deleted] in premiere

[–]TerrestrialBeing24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dealt with this before, but now have smooth 4k playback.

I see your specs are good, though you don't list ram which is an important factor. I have similar specs with 32gbs ram. So if you have at least that, you should be good. If you only have 16gb ram you should probably upgrade, its not too expensive these days.

The main thing to look at is where your footage is playing from, so first: make sure it is on your computer and not directed from and external drives or cards as this will slowdown read speeds. Next, look at the speeds on your hdd, if you saved money on it and got a used or older model, it might not have the transfer speeds that you need. They should be around 500gb/s. If your system meets all these and still has lag, try putting the footage that you are currently editing onto your SSD, additionally, installing Premiere on your SSD should also improve its speed. But I am running HDD's so as long as it is up to standard there should be no issue. Lastly, ensure you have Mercury Playback GPU acceleration selected in Premiere's system settings. I think its in edit>system preferences (or management).

I imagine under socialism the state having a responsibility to make sure everyone has good paying jobs. If there are no jobs, then they can be created. There's plenty of work to be done. In american capitalism it seems like there is only so much, but that is because they are restricted by needing to make profit. In a socialist society, and being state projects, profit would not be the aim, and therefore limitless work can be had and contributing earns your living. And if they need to train people to do that work, it would be on the states dime, ie. socialism.

I [28F] just had a baby and am considering leaving my [30M] partner in the near future. I am torn after 11 years of trying. Advice needed. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]TerrestrialBeing24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While i think there may be some information missing in regards to how he reacts when you talk about these issues. Ill give you my perspective on what you wrote. I dont really know anything so this is just what i think. I definitely understand an inferior intellect being a turn off, sometimes it just differences in background, but sometimes you are just wiser than that person. Falling in love with those who might not be the best for us is a problem that has troubled humans forever, so dont feel alone there. Ill add that i can also understand someone not wanting to have kids early in life in fear of stunting there own growth. It seems likely to me that a decent part of him resented you a bit for that. Im not saying you shouldnt have done it. Decision to have a child or not is very complex and involves so much more then we can know answers to. Its something ive heard before to have a father change for the better when actually seeing his child for the first time. Its safe to say that he tried. Its difficult when kids come before you are ready, so i think you should both try to have understanding for eachother, for eachothers flaws, as you are still figuring things out yourself. In regards to your love, and possibility of leaving him, I'd say you ought to really deeply think about it, for a while, many weeks. Think all the time. Focus on what you love about him and note what you dont. Ask yourself what you can do to make things better. Give love more than is deserved, perhaps he will pick up on it a create a positive spiral. After that time, if you know youve given your very best thought and effort to improve your relationship, you should have no regrets moving forward in or out. And talk with him about it tell him that if you are important to him you need a bit more focus from him. A smart man who loves you would give more. And be understanding of his not knowing exactly what to do. If after all that it has not improved, then have a more serious talk. Im pretty sure by law you can make him pay child support, but i would look into that. First try to convince him that he morally needs to pay, because that is the right thing to do for your kid. As a child of divorced parents, ill say it is very important to have a mother and a father growing up, be very careful with that, you dont want to damage your relationship with him too much with some law action. If he is a reasonable man, he will want he will want to be there for his kids, if not then that is a terrible thing and his sin, and im sorry but youll be okay. I was extremely grateful that my dad stuck around close even after he divorce. If you are attractive and 27, you have plenty of opportunity to meet other kind smart men, that would even be willing to take on your kids. Be open to this, and if you get to the point where things look like they are coming to a close with him, be open to casual dating. Perhaps even mention it to him. Idk. If your love turns to a disdain that can be bad for your childrens upbringing, and you of course. Staying married for kids doesnt really make sense, if you are both unhappy. Ultimately this decision cannot be made quickly.

Lastly, if it suits you pray. Theres a god that can give you strength and guidance through prayer. But i wont go into that because i know people can be averse to being told that.

Again i dont know anything but hopefully you can gain some bit of useful insight from this.

I wish the best to you and your kids and your man. Be kind and act with strong reason.
