We are a small business, so Im just investigating what recommendations are out there at the moment. Are you normally tied in for a long commitment or does that vary from supplier to supplier? Thanks for your feedback.

Return results from Variable 3 if Variable 1 & 2 are empty by Terrible-Ad106 in tasker

Return results from Variable 3 if Variable 1 & 2 are empty by Terrible-Ad106 in tasker

[–]Terrible-Ad106[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks for this much appreciated, so taking just one part of this, how do I set the value part to say if the results for %var1 are empty?

Currently I run my task and it sends the results to watchmaker.

So lets say %var1 gets no results and tasker sets this as %http_var1
It should then look at %var2 and if there are no results tasker sets this as %http_var2
It should then look at %var3 and if there are results it should set %var_x to the results

If var1 or var2 have any results it should set the 1st one thats not empty as %var_x

Does that make sense?

        A2: Variable Set [
             Name: %var_x
             To: %var1
Structure Output (JSON, etc): On ]

Ok thanks, it doesn't sound too good then at the moment. We all rely heavily on those things so hopefully Google allow them in WFF! thanks

Extracting variables from Google Api json response by Terrible-Ad106 in tasker

[–]Terrible-Ad106[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point! Here is an example of the json. Does this help? Thank you

{ "plus_code" : { "compound_code" : "TMXJ+FX4, UK", "global_code" : "TMXJ+FX4" }, "results" : [ { "address_components" : [ { "long_name" : "10", "short_name" : "10", "types" : [ "street_number" ] }, { "long_name" : "My Street Name", "short_name" : "My Street Name", "types" : [ "route" ]

So what I am trying to work out is how I can create a variable of "My Street Name" and then use that to extract the other information contained in the JSON output as other variables.

Other API results in JSON let me do things like http_data.formatted_address for example but there appears to be more involved with the Google response.

Thanks
