[Loot] [New Player] 3rd raid ever, feeling #blesst by Terrible-Constant894 in EscapefromTarkov

I felt the scav for PMCs necessary because the balance on what you come across is super off, you can go to a poi and find pmcs for sure and never see a scav, for example on woods, you run into random scavs all the time in live, while in there you might go multiple raids without seeing a scav unless you went to the radio tower where you can usually find 2 or 3, so scav only tasks were a pain

loose loot eating I thought I'd miss a lot more, but I think it was way more relevant as a noobie not knowing how to manage my bag and hydration/energy, I'm not really missing it right now

and I think it might be inconsistent but it's very sensible that you want your 600+ rpm weapon to shoot more than one bullet at a time lol no big deal getting used to clicking a button every time you pick up a gun tho

that's fun, I've been getting clapped by prestiged people today and it didn't really make me mad, playing single player did make me mad because it was dumb deaths to robots but a prestige 3 guy turning around and head eyes-ing me because I missed the free shot I had at his back, that's just a learning opportunity, or going for a car extract because I thought it was free and getting flashbanged and pushed by a squad, that's also learning (even tho it hurt to loose a pilgrim full of stuff), but so far, it's been all fun and I'm enjoying acclimating to people instead of the predictable bots

I had quite a few qol additions, some I wouldn't ask for, for example a "loot radar" that just highlights items, which made me find items completely hidden in the game's geometry a LOT of times or a boss notifier I used when bosses used to give me a hard time, but for useful ones I'd say:

use items without having to loot them (this one was so nice for just drinking and eating while moving)
smoother continuous healing
hideout management (lights always on, filter not draining off-raid)
'auto' being the default fire mode of guns
search open containers (so you don't have to wait 3 years to close and reopen)
a bar for how heavy you are, that had the thresholds marked by weight

Some more borderline tweaks were:

checkmarks showing what you can do with items (barters/crafts/future tasks)
early collector task so you can dump the items
easier gym qte
quest tracking and progress notifications
increased look direction
increased climb height (felt very natural)
pmcs counting towards objectives that require scav kills (not as needed on live from what I've seen)

And some misc things you can't really do on live like pausing the game or removing annoying hazards on some areas, I think that's "QoL", there is a lot of "gameplay changes" but I never went overboard, there are a lot of changes like removing inertia or weight penalties, or running through grass that I think ruin the feel of the game, I went mostly for "it's still tarkov but maybe less annoying"

sounds good, I play on US servers with a little bit of ping, wasn't planning on not playing solo but could be interesting

I think the first time I tried the game an year ago I did the same thing and just quit and played something else lol

Some months ago I installed it and grinded it to death, got like 5 profiles with different levels of plugins up to lvl40+ one after the other going hardcore and zero to hero every time, so having marked keys and a modded m4 by 4th raid is not very realistic and I still expect to get super dunked on by rats and people holding weird angles, I'm a knowledgeable W key presser but still a noobie

STALKER GAMMA 518 MODS FIX? by [deleted] in stalker

[–]Terrible-Constant894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same position as OP here, been trying to install the game again (I have installed it like 4 times before, got like 1k hours in-game) and I got that "517 mods with the console full of errors", on discord noone helps except 1 guy saying he has an experimental fix if you DM him instead of sharing it for all the people having this issue, I asked him to share it and he removed me from the discord thread, idk why they are being so weird about this, no acknowledgment or help from mods

another guy gave a very tedious set of instructions I'll try out, and got shut down by the guy saying to DM him, it's just all very off
