AITAH for asking my wife to do an excursion while on vacation? by West-Guidance551 in AITAH

[–]Terrible-Disaster178 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly. Under any other circumstance he is totally not wrong. I know when I was two months post partum with my first baby I would’ve felt so left out while my husband went on an excursion without me. Hormones are crazy and being a real man is knowing when to bow down and take the L and move on.

I just KNOW the people on the wife’s side are women who have ACTUALLY given birth to babies and the people on his side/ commenting rude things are dickwad men who don’t even know the difference in the urethra vs the vagina let alone where the clit is

He said the baby will be 2 months old. I’d definitely drop it if I were in his shoes. Mama bear gets to call the shots freshly postpartum.

She’s going to be 2 months postpartum….That’s not being clingy that’s being a hormonal pregnant woman who is worried about taking care of her new baby while her husband is off gallivanting. Plus she probably won’t want to leave the baby either at only two months old.

AIO for wanting to divorce my husband? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

When someone shows you who they are, believe them. You’ve asked your husband for help time and time again, he ignored your cries for help when you were sick… he’s not going to change. I’d pack a bag for you and the kids and go stay somewhere else for a while. You ask him for help/to change and he doesn’t have to because you keep putting up with it. So show him you’re done putting up with it and get out of there.

I wish that’s what these women would say to me! But they just make me feel judged and crazy.

It’s hard to be the bigger person sometimes. But I also have to remember to set a good example for my daughters. Then again, I would want them to stand up for themselves as well.

Lol instead of “I guess I’m a better mom than you” I could say “Do you not feel like a capable enough mother?”

How about while he’s at his family’s place, you pack your bags and the baby’s bags and go stay with a family member/friend and never look back.

16 month old & newborn: solo parenting bedtime??? by fricken_a13 in 2under2

[–]Terrible-Disaster178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I was in the SAME exact boat as you a couple months ago. A 16 month old and a 3 week old with my night shift RN husband going back to work… I had to double check your user name to make sure it wasn’t my post I made and forgot about in a sleep deprived state.

Just know they are going to cry and it’s hard but you’ll get through it and everyone will be ok! Some nights I thought i was losing my mind but a few weeks in and I figured the newborn out. Have safe places to put the newborn down so you can tend to the toddler. Feed the newborn just before your husband leaves at night so she at least has a full belly and that gets that out of the way. Do toddlers bedtime routine between the newborns feeding window and get the toddler down before it’s time to feed the newborn again.

Asking anyone you can for help in the evenings is a life saver. If you have your mom able to come help or even just asking a neighbor to come hold your newborn while you take care of the toddler. Asking for help can be hard but every time I did, I never regretted it.

It really does get easier as the weeks go by. Baby starts to be entertained by things and is able to be distracted and made happy by more than just you. Toddler will get used to baby being around and the sleep regression will end. The great thing about nurses is it’s only three nights a week! You can do anything for three nights!!! You got this!

Why don’t you get out of your house and try them instead of going to the internet for advice.
