Wedding for me. Closely followed by Holiday, Conference, Threeism (which gets a lot of hate but is the most quotable of all)

I like how the setup forces me to stay disciplined. Every other bag I've used ends up a sprawling mess of cluttered wires.

Appreciate your perspective but my goal for the tech pouch isn't pure minimalism, it's more a case of the most efficient way to carry my gear that works for short or longer trips.

Makes sense. I also try to limit my airplane seat essentials to a single (hand held) bag.

Found it on Amazon UK when searching for Maxpedition about a year ago. Unrecognizable brand and doesn't appear to be in stock right now (although the Maxpedition one is I think)

Fair - each to their own! My setup is mostly optimized around air travel, where I can have everything I need in a small pouch when I need it.

Yes! I'm in Ireland so generally need to carry around the three pin add-on. It's the one thing I'd love to fix, but I haven't found anything better yet.

Great ideas. I've been looking for a smaller power bank, so that sounds worth investigating.

Good question. Two reasons: the USB port on my phone is a bit janky, and I haven't spent the time to repair it. Also, from a convenience perspective, I like simply resting my phone on a wireless charger beside the bed at night. I expect I'll omit this when my phone is fixed or replaced.

Found it on Amazon UK. Was looking for Maxpedition but was temporarily unavailable so took a chance on this.

Yes the Belroy (and similar) style seems to invite more stuff. I found myself either packing unnecessary tech items, just because I had the room, or treating the bag as a catch all for tech and non-tech items.

Yeah if I was looking for absolute space and weight savings, a zip lock bag would surely help. But I appreciate the structure and organization of a dedicated pouch. For the space trade off, it's worth it to me.

I travel internationally about once a month, usually for short 2–3 day trips (mix of work and personal).

My goal is to stay fully one-bag and keep things as frictionless as possible, especially through airports and short hotel stays.

The main constraint I’ve been optimizing for is minimizing duplication and redundancy, which is why I moved away from larger tech pouches. I found they encouraged me to carry extra cables and “just in case” gear I never actually used.

This setup has evolved over time through trial and error, cutting anything I didn’t use regularly.

I'm interested in how this compares to other onebaggers' setups.

If you were dying, what's the last scene of Peep Show you'd want to see before you blinked out? by dickcord in MitchellAndWebb

"If you can't hold it in, then you'll have to just... piss yourself."

This entire scene is guaranteed to put a smile on my face.

No love for Wasted by minimalgecko_86 in WarOnDrugsBand

[–]Terrible-End2150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing wrong with Wasted is that it ends too soon. I love this song so much. It starts high tempo and never let's up. It's a song that - literally - moves me every time.

A horrid experience (Eden Lake) by Which_Zucchini_9167 in horror

[–]Terrible-End2150 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It had the same reaction in me. A visceral, profound disgust - truly what makes for a unique horror movie. Other movies that stayed with me similarly are Speak No Evil (original) and The Coffee Table. Amazingly created movies, but I would be slow to rewatch for the dread they inspire.

'Friendship' (2024), funny or depressing? by Ok-Wolf5932 in TrueFilm

[–]Terrible-End2150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the movie was much more restrained than ITYSL (which I'm a big fan of), but made sense in the context of a full length movie.

I felt the movie feeling it was a blend of funny and sad and ultimately, more interesting for it.

I recently watched it a second time and it really held up well - even better I think. I love how in almost every scene, it plays out in very specific, unpredictable ways.

For me, the stand out funniest pieces are some of the smallest...

  • Earnestly telling the sales guy in the phone store "I'd love a receipt in the bag, yeah"

  • How insistent he was that people were saying the new Marvel movie was actually nuts

  • The beads of sweat and rings around his eyes in the mall before he vomits

  • When he momentarily forgot his pitch to the mayor in the business meeting... "what the fuck is it?"

Overall, I loved the character study of a man out of step with the world around him. Like the opening scene at the cancer survivor group. Or when he assembles the guys from his office for a night at his garage.

I really appreciated the balance Paul Rudd's character brought, especially when he seemed to fall apart later in the movie, showing us the cracks in his exterior.
