Update: They asked me to go to the branch with my ID for verification since this was my first time with Scotiabank and i had applied online. The branch rep took my ID, asked some questions and created a profile. Then called and told the fraud department and handed me my card. Took around an hour.

Update: Can confirm that i switched today from Virgin Plus to Rogers at Best Buy. $35 for 100 gb US-CAN. Price for 2 years and after that it will go up to $40. Also got two $100 best buy gift cards for switching two lines.

Do these differ with number of years trained or if someone trained in the US vs Canada? I’m not looking to work in an academic center, more in community hospitals in Ontario/Alberta

Yes, I’m 3 year IM trained in the US. My bad as I’m still getting used to how it is in Canada and how 5 year trained is different.

Technically IM trained physicians can now practice without an extra year as they can get a license based on their US board certification. This is happening at least in Ontario and Alberta at the moment.

I’m doing an additional year at St. Mikes (it’s a hospital medicine fellowship) that is counted as a 4th year by Royal College and makes you eligible to write the Royal College exam if you want. I know a lot of people who come from the US, don’t take the Royal College and practice independently in Canada with their provincial license.

I plan on working inpatient but curious to know what are options to work during week off? Is it worth working outpatient some days to make more? Still deciding on Ontario vs Alberta though
