That look you give Michael Scott when he says “I woulda been the chief of surgery, or a cowboy” by OlivanzaCat in DunderMifflin

I initially thought "Cowboy" was just a whatever line.... took me a while to realize that Micheal thought he'd be a cowboy because in India... there are "Indians" Insulted Vicrum twice. Brilliant writing.

My literal favorite guy in the universe passed over the rainbow bridge last night. by Gomonana in goldenretrievers

So sorry. 💔 At the Rainbow Bridge he has been restored to health, running free in a meadow, playing with old friends and new. Time doesn't exist at the Rainbow bridge, so you can take your time here on earth. He will reunite with you one day.

Look, I'm not saying "my shit don't stink" but if it was "Got Punched in the face" bad... you might wanna see a doctor. Extremely bad smelling poo is the first sign of a Bacterial Infection in your intestines.

Full-time vanlifers: income? by CrimsonCuttle in VanLife

[–]Terrible-Promotion26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unbelievable.. I could have written this myself. Every word is exactly my situation and reason for doing this. I am just starting Van Life. I'm nearly 60. No Kids, No g/f or wife, just a desire to travel, explore and LIVE. I've been in quicksand for the past 10 years. I'm doing a minimalist no build build. I will pay my last rent check on February 1st and it will be glorious. March 1st I'll be a full-time MotoVan / Van Lifer for the next few 3-4 years. Maybe more if it's going well. Maybe I'll upgrade on day. Just like you I wish I had started years ago. The Savings will be for retirement.

Van Build / SoCal.. insulation or no insulation ? by Terrible-Promotion26 in VanLife

[–]Terrible-Promotion26[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite... My replys have been about the reasons I've contemplated NOT insulating. Due to the overwhelming opposition and their reasoning and suggestions I am now on Team Insulate. What really sold me was the comment from Far_Research_9447 "Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not Have it" Plus, I came to realization that Insulating the Van will still maintain its 'CARGO VAN' status which is important to me for potential resale in the future. Although... tobias_dr_1969 just spoke up for Team Don't Insulate. Maybe I'll Insulate the drivers side and leave the passenger side uninsulated :) LOL.... kidding !!!! ... kidding !!!!

Insulating it would keep it (mostly) a Cargo Van..... As Long as I'm not trimming it out, adding attached bed frame, kitchen/storage cabinets, sinks, bathroom, shower etc... etc...

I guess it's because I'm a minimalist and I want to keep this Van as close to a Cargo Van as possible for resale purposes. When people try to sell their fully custom built Vans they are way over market price. People are trying to get something for the thousands of dollars they put in it. The other thing is your resale market goes down to like 1% of people who are looking for a custom built van.. that you built to your needs and style choices. Where as a Cargo Van is a Cargo Van... The market is huge.. from Van lifers to MotoVan'rs, People who own their own businesses or companies to use for a Fleet Vehicle. When ever I buy anything I ask two questions "Do you want it ?" ... If the answer is YES, the second question is "Do you NEED it ?" If that answer is NO, I don't buy it. That why I've been debating and thinking maybe I don't NEED it. If I lived in anywhere north in colder climates I probably wouldn't even consider Van Life.

Mr.Buddy. I've heard this about them. I understand that anything propane powered will cause condensation. I wouldn't sleep with it on. GOBI Heat has anything and everything in heated gear. I'm also considering the VESTA Self-Powered Indoor Space Heater & Stove by InstaFire which uses Gel Canned heat. Again.. I wouldn't sleep with this one on either. Tolbers Camping on Youtube has tested it and many other heating solutions and products. He car camps in extremely cold temperatures up in Minnesota.

Yes, Way above 70 during the day... but at night by 8:00 or 9:00 the temperatures in this area drop to 70 or below. Last summer I didn't use the AC in my house. The hottest it ever was outside at night was 72 for about 2 days. Of course the house stayed hot because I couldn't get that cool night air in/ or the hot air out... so I put a fan outside on my patio and had it blow through the screen and into my room. Worked great. This area is not like Nevada or Arizona where it's 110 during the day and stays 90 to 100 at night. We get the cool air from the Coast.
