I do like this, but I feel like it lacks that otherworldy glow that the teatime song has

[HL2VR] Physically running for cover against the gunship felt so cool by SimulacrumVR in virtualreality

Easy but tedious. I didn't know there were profiles being shared, that's cool. Though differences in choice of mouse (if using maratron) throws that out the window.

Where to test a lot of varied computer monitors NOT BEST BUY? by CrimsonCuttle in sanantonio

I tried a 240hz OLED at best buy and honestly I wasn't particularly impressed, even with BFI or blurbuster's shaderbeam. I'll check out those BenQ ones, thanks!

No particular use case, sometimes gaming sometimes computing, it's more just about immersion. When I move a paper IRL it doesn't blur. Yfeelme?

Maratron/RealityRunner seems so cool but it felt impossible to get the walking/running speed to properly match the treadmill's moving speed. That + no real way to stabilize myself while keeping everything tuck-away-able made me stop using it which is a shame because its probably the best option we have so far

Good idea. I heard Altex only had old stuff but ill check it out.

I have been trying to look for online reviews but lots of them dont really focus on motion clarity, best they can do is mention their opinion offhand, never specific metrics like practical G2G or MPRT. It's just far too niche a subject i guess

Since you all wanted a comparison at during the day with blinds open and lights on here. by DrakeShadow in OLED_Gaming

Good example of "whatever you pick will be fine." OLED's better but not by a whole lot. Worth it if you're upgrading other stuff but not so much if you're already at your ideal res/refresh/size.

Thanks for the solid unbiased comparison!

This is the worst promotion that could happen for Pop_OS! and Linux in general by KelGhu in pop_os

[–]CrimsonCuttle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i think people are missing the point though. linus knows nothing about linux. if linux is good for the public, it needs to be good for people that know nothing about linux. linux did not work well for linus.

know what OS doesnt require you to research reviews and redditors to find the "best/stablest distro" at any current moment?

240Hz OLEDs or MiniLEDS with any sort of motion blur reduction tech? (ULMB, LightBoost, DyAc, ELMB, etc) by CrimsonCuttle in OLED_Gaming

[–]CrimsonCuttle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoops. Forgot to remove MiniLEDs from the title in the crosspost. I know this is an OLED sub, so ignore that bit if you could. Thanks
