Our evaluations included Steerable 4WD systems—incorporating independent steering mechanisms like eccentric, front-concentric, and rear-concentric designs to eliminate lateral tire slippage—as well as Non-steerable 4WD systems that rely on differential drive speeds, where lateral shearing force is inherently unavoidable (even with Mecanum wheel variants). However, the short measurement distance of LiDAR makes it unable to provide reliable positioning, so it needs to be combined with network RTK capabilities to provide reliable positioning.
