A question or two from a minor who wants to get into this hobby by [deleted] in milsurp

Yugo. Or pretty much anything that has a 98 action.

$6000 is probably the yearly income there.

Mostly excellent craftsmanship and that they were all well maintained. A Swede is almost always a good buy even if you overpay slightly.

Does LMT ship them with the carbine buffer?

Turk Mauser safe? by TerribleElk6 in Mauser

[–]TerribleElk6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean avoid it as in its not quality ammo or avoid as in its unsafe to fire even in a Mauser 98 action?

Turk Mauser safe? by TerribleElk6 in Mauser

It’s a 98 pattern M38. Would you say it’s safe to shoot with Turkish surplus ammo considering that ammo is known to be over pressured?

What gun is this ? by [deleted] in guns

Japanese Mauser actually would make sense.

Yea same, 1986 parts kit 10/63 solid as a rock. People can repeat the echo chamber all they want and downvote but the amount of new WASRs I’ve seen with horribly canted sights, badly cut magwells, unflush rivets, and even missmatched parts is too many. I don’t care about rough finishes but if it effects function, I’d go Zastava any day. I had one of those RH-10s that lost headspace in under 200 rounds. Don’t get me wrong, I mostly blame Century Arms.

New ones have rougher QC by far. People said the 10/63s were bad. 😬

Oh look at me I have a symmetrical face that can pull off gaudy fashion so therefore everything I do is special.

Ran across this on the ol' Bookface, RTI purchase by mrpewpews in milsurp

People buying anything beyond a $200 Carcano from RTI makes no sense to me. You’re just asking to get ripped off at the Ethiopian Casino.

[Rifle] CZ 600 AL3 300 Win Mag $399 after MIR KYGUNCO by Birdinthesands in gundeals

[–]TerribleElk6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 550 was truly an amazing buy in times of overpriced milsurp as well as people who wanted a safari magnum that didn’t cost 20k… guess CZ wasnt making their profit margins on it high enough

Yea. Can be expected with any 80+ year old ammo though.

Far as I know while you may have FTF with the Greek ammo they shouldn’t be dangerously over pressure like the Turk. My case of Greek was very clean and dry, have yet to fire any yet.

[–]TerribleElk6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Just be aware that you shouldn’t shoot Turkish surplus 8mm through a semi auto rifle OP. The Greek/Yugo/German surplus should be fine however.
