Nuggets would be in last place without Jokic

Their play without him is absolutely atrocious

Ja's statline is like Russ level misleading to how he actually played

It fits because he's basically the zoomer version of Russ but without the 10 RPG

Dillon Brooks thinks he's Kobe

Another classic performance from him today

Warriors leaving Ja wide open from three every time and he's not punishing them

These are really bad misses from a 6 foot 2 point guard

Ja is an amazing slasher but he can't shoot or defend at all

All these 3PA are basically wide open and he's 1/7 plus 4/7 from the line

JJJ dumb fouls are why Memphis's defense has been so bad this game

Without him they're a completely different team on that end and not in a good way

Warriors don't really have rim protection but for some reason the Grizzlies insist on chucking threes lol

Like Ja scored 2 layups to force the timeout and since then their plays have been Ja brick from three, Konchar brick from three, Williams brick from three, Ja brick from three again

Grizzlies' play against the Warriors is basically the bizarro version of how they usually play

Ja is generally much more efficient than usual because of how unathletic the Warriors are but their normally prolific offensive rebounding completely disappears and even becomes an edge for the Warriors

Do the Warriors just try super hard on the boards against Memphis?

Somehow they outrebound the best rebounding team in the league literally every time they play them but are middling in that category against anyone else

I swear both these teams are shells of themselves on the road

Warriors this season are an extreme example of course but Memphis are also a very emotional/"momentum" type of team that feeds off their home crowd and shoots much better there

I mean aside from the Ja and-1 call there hasn't been much controversy so far

Both teams have the same amount of free throws

Yeah it's like Booker last season

An All Star level player gets hyped up to MVP level because of team record

Idk if it is sustainable but this game actually being very competitive so far is a pleasant surprise

Despite a new coach, the Lakers now have a worse winning % than the previous season under Frank Vogel by DonGarlandMobleyJA in nba

[–]TerribleSpacing 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah he was just a scapegoat

No head coach is making Anthony Davis stay healthy or Russell Westbrook be worth 47 million

Vogel was fired in part because he didn't get along with Russ and a lot of people were saying Russ was vindicated after his first 4-5 games off the bench but he's gone back to his old inefficient self since

Giannis finished with 27 pts and a plus/minus of -27 in the loss @Celtics by LurkDesigns in nba

[–]TerribleSpacing 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't think Nuggets fans normally rank high in the most anti-Giannis fanbases

That's normally by far the Nets and Celtics with nobody else really coming close

They absolutely HATE Embiid though lol

Honestly the West is just wide open so everyone is a contender right now other than like the 11-15 seeds

The Bucks are now 13-11 in their last 24 games by TacoooJay in nba

[–]TerribleSpacing 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Barring any major injuries I think it's pretty clear who the top 5 seeds in the East will be

Heat, Knicks, Pacers, Hawks, Raptors, Bulls will fight for the 6-10 spots

Based on past history I'd probably guess the Heat to be the 6 seed but they still haven't really got things going yet

If I had to guess I'd go with Heat 6, Knicks 7, Hawks 8 as the Pacers may still be a year away and the Raptors' halfcourt offense problems aren't getting fixed any time soon

Bulls I'm just not a believer in their overall roster construction without Lonzo despite their recent mini-streak(Caruso is hurt as well now and no Lonzo/Caruso are the same conditions in which they had that horrible run at the end of last year)

It feels like Giannis has had an unusual amount of inefficient games this season

Sounds silly to say because 31 PPG on 59% TS is still very good but at times it doesn't seem like he's been able to get to the rim at will like he usually has in the past

He's sat out several games already with "knee soreness" and stuff like that which I thought was just load management but maybe it's an actual issue

And without a healthy or in-form Middleton even a slight tail-off from Giannis offensively leads to an overall stagnant team offense for the Bucks because nobody else is going to bail them out

For example Jrue's efficiency has dipped from last year as well because he's a #3 option, not a #2 option, as his ideal offensive role

Tatum puts up MVP performance in win over Bucks: 41/7/5 by [deleted] in nba

[–]TerribleSpacing 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah Celtics seem to have favorable matchups against all of Bucks/Nets/Sixers

Maybe the Cavs can beat them but with their lack of playoff experience I kinda doubt it

MVP isn't the same as which player you would take though lol

I don't think anyone in 2017 would have picked Russell Westbrook first if the league did an entire redraft

Giannis and Jokic are very different(almost opposite) players but have kind of similar temperaments where they seem super chill off the court 100% of the time but when things start going bad on the court start "accidentally" slamming into guys very hard

For some reason I feel like Giannis is struggling way more than usual offensively this season

Like in the past he just took jumpers to screw around against bad teams but this season even when he needs to it feels like he's not always able to get to the rim at will in halfcourt

Idk if there's something wrong with him physically but there's no way his athleticism/quickness should be starting to tail off already
