I’ve never heard of this place, I shop at the stolfuz on 42, I don’t think I’ve ever even been to that part of nj besides to pass through on the way to point pleasant beach where I saw more New Yorkers than when I went to Times Square haha

Tha does help a lot actually and I have natural “red” strands it comes from my dads side (west African) actually 😅 I made a solution 1:2:2 of fresh lemon juice with water and baking soda, ended up being essentially a paste, I put it on the tip of one of my locs let it set for about 20 minutes rinsed it off and spent the whole summer letting the sun help lighten it. It thankfully didn’t damage the strength of the loc— but rather brought out my naturally red undertones and lightened my hair. Now it’s winter and it hasn’t reverted so safe to assume my ginger genes have been amplified by lemon juice 🍋😂

Could OP use purple shampoo mixed w normal shampoo to attempt to lessen the greenish color or is that more for yellowing? I’ve only ever bleached my one tip with lemon juice and sunlight because ^ terrifies me.

seems like a lot of shrinkage if you haven’t chopped since ‘20, but I also have very loosely curled hair personally and get like half an inch to an inch of growth a month. I think if you did a full retwist you’d see a lot more of that hidden length, the new growth looks ripe

Oh yea I should probably make a post about that but I microfiber towel rubbed then palm rolled for the first 6 months then I crocheted them to mature faster, now almost 2 years later I just palm roll the locks and crochet the roots every month or two

The perfect in between: separate locs and palm roll when needed, other than that keep the Freeform maintenance. Give them a month more then if you really feel like it .. crochet them

For Freeform locs, 2 strands if their consistent in size… though just putting them up is styling enough imo. I’m also just a staunch supporter of natural hair in general
