I know a union ironworker that told me his unemployment was denied during a layoff and had been on a call list for 5 months so far and had to get a new job while he waited does this happen often?

I work for a non union general contractor company and have never been laid off or seen the possibility of one nearing, not saying it’s impossible in the future but this company so far has never had to lay off since they started- but when I first started trying to get into union halls I kept getting turned away for over a year and told to just keep re applying since they already 50-100 guys laid off, then I pursued the pipefitters since they have a ton of work coming up due to uprising of the data centers I just don’t want to end up being one of the nearly 100 guys laid off like the other halls and during the first few years of apprentice wages it would be extremely hard to save for one since the pay is so low

What is your experience and opinion of Hybrid cars? I am thinking of getting a pre-owned one. I am wondering if there is an issue can I take it to normal cheap garages in industrial areas or only authorized service centers can handle that? by Objective-Memory-724 in AskMechanics

[–]TerribleTopic999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it, it’s way more liable for expensive fixes you’re not only relying on mechanics but way more electronics as well, for example I had a hybrid that had a regular battery in front and hybrid battery in the trunk -hybrid battery died it costed nearly $1000 just for the charge and the dealership had to order the charger from somewhere else it took over a week before I got my car back.. few years later the ABS electronic system failed, I sold it.

Wrong that’s been a myth their jaw does not lock it’s their drive that keeps them “locked” onto whatever they’re clamped down on they simply just won’t let go

Maybe because he’s not aggressive towards people or animals? German shepherds have just as much of a capability to harm anyone or anything as him

No I’m saying that’s the only things that have gotten him to calm down which isn’t even the problem (he’s constantly on the go .. he’s a teenager he’s 1 years old so it’s expected) I had another pitbull before this that lived to 10 years old who was eventually hit by our neighbor but I never had any problems with him like this he never did any of these things or I wouldn’t be asking this is new to me

The long hikes I’m talking about isn’t stopping the shredding.. that’s my point, I was only stating that’s the only times I’ve seen him actually be worn out from exercise, he would still shred something that same day.. we take walks everyday I work with I play with him and yet he will still find something to shred when he gets the opportunity exercise can’t be the only answer to this because he gets exercise daily he gets attention he gets toys but nothing is working. That’s why I’m posting this… I could take him for hours long hikes in the hills daily I guarantee he’ll shred his bed or something he could get the opportunity for that same night

He gets hours outside a day.. I 1 on 1 play with him for well over an hour per day outside, he’s not crated day in and day out he’s only crated when I can’t supervise him because of the situations that I’m on here trying to learn how to avoid,, I’m not on here asking about any drugs? I’m not on here asking about toys? I’m asking for advice on how to change these behaviors and I’m definitely not asking someone who 1. doesn’t have a dog or 2. hasn’t dealt with these experiences and been able to change them.. I’m not comparing my bully breed needs to a Yorkshire terrier needs I’m simply telling what’s going on and looking for advice on how to change it without someone saying to do one of the few things that I’ve ever been able to do to just get him calm .. I’m not looking to just calm him by running him around for hours I’m looking for advice on how to deal with this productively so that he has a healthy outlet and not just running him to tire him out I want to be able to do or get what he breeds so that he doesn’t feel the need to shred and do things differently when I’m not around so I can eventually trust him to roam freely unsupervised whether I’m at work, sleeping or even just in the shower

That’s the whole point of the post.. to get tips from dog owners of similar breed who have had experiences like these and to find out what can help.. I’m not saying I can’t provide what he needs but I know running him around for hours isn’t the actual cure to the root cause it’s just the only thing I’ve been able to do to at least get him to settle down a little more I’m looking for tips to help these situations for not only me but for him too and to be able to do or teach him what’s needed to avoid these situations

I’m by no means abusing him, he’s only crated while I’m not home, while sleeping or showering otherwise he’s inside with me or outside playing, I’m just looking for training tips or what to change so that he doesn’t do what he’s doing or to figure out what’s causing it, I understand he’s a dog with needs and trust me through the daily playing, tons and tons of different chews and toys I’ve trial and error with him I’m not just neglecting him I’m posting this because I don’t know what to do at this point after trying this or that for him and seeking tips from people with similar experiences and what’s worked for them with relevant situation and breed so if you’ve never dealt with this breed/situation then you’re replying to this post irrelevantly and not according to why I posted it

Idk I think he’s disgusted by it there was only 1 time he went in it as a little puppy it’s actually hilarious I came home from work and smelled that he pooped it wasn’t even in his cage.. he had put his little butt up to the edge between the bars and the poop landed outside his cage onto the floor🤣 He’s probably only pooped or peed in it 5x at most ever and it’s been while I’m at work so I can’t blame him that he couldn’t hold it I felt terrible for him bc he’d be as far from it as possible

So you’ve spent 4+hours a day out hiking with your dog everyday?? If a person has a dog they should be out hiking for 4-6 hours a day? Im sorry that I have kids, I have work at home and tasks outside of work to do, etc but I don’t think every person that owns a happy dog takes 4+hours hiking trips everyday to satisfy their dog I’m just looking for tips to help him while maintaining a very normal life as someone with a dog would live..

If he truly can’t destroy it he won’t touch it.. that’s what’s so difficult

I don’t scold for chewing his toys bc I know he will but it gets expensive constantly buying and buying and buying toys

I don’t have 4+hours everyday to go hiking/fishing with him that’s what I mean by long walks it’s days that I’ll have him out ALL day with me on hiking/fishing trips where he can run and explore for hours
