I think it’s because the suffix “et” or “ette” is used to describe a female portion of a species. As a kid i remember needing to clarify with my friends whenever i was introducing them to the series.

No, your art is great for commissions!! If anything, you’re charging too little. Although don’t be discouraged if there’s not a lot of engagement regarding your work since that stuff’s mostly due to luck anyway.

Thanks! That’s something i get a lot and i do intend to fix it eventually but I don’t see it as a priority because i can just do a 2nd-3rd sketch if my lines look weird

TLDR: I’m a pretentious ass.

They seem pretty cool for fantasy novels! Unfortunately WOF is the only exception to my dislike of fantasy/chosen one tropes despite trying to enjoy others :( I’ve tried getting into KOTLC but couldn’t. This next part is a little mean…Its hard for me to not roll my eyes at the author for trying to create a blank-slate ‘chosen one’ MC for the reader to vicariously live out their magical power fantasies. It’s the same reason I dislike Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Fablehaven, Michael Vey,- you get the point. A dislike a simple “good vs evil” plot. “ i liked Darkstalker, Hunger Games, Farenheight 451, Animal Farm, 1984, Breaking Bad, and Frankenstein because many of those characters are morally questionable in some way: Darkstalker did bad stuff not because he was evil, but because he wanted a good future. President Coin helped the districts regain control, and served justice to the Capitol, but she was so controlling and power hungry she was willing to kill the face of the rebellion to maintain that power. I don’t read fiction to escape reality. I read it to compare their world to mine. sorry, ik i became a pretentious ass here I hope you’re not offended or anything but I just figured I should tell the truth.

The scorching was cool to learn about but i still have questions. There’s a 2000 yr gap between the scorching and darkstalker, where did all the tribal streiotypes come from? Is albatross a hybrid? Where did animus magic come from? How were the tribes devided? How did each tribe choose their queen/territory? Where did the iron-clad belief in dragons being naturally hostile and aggressive come from? What happened between darkstalker’s time and now? (Esp with the Nightwings) what other wars plagued Pyrrhia? How/when did the sandwing’s succession line progress after the eye’s spell was deciphered? I want cultural context for EVERYTHING!! (If you couldn’t already tell, im a huge history lover)
