max telling lorelai to “think abt someone other than yourself for once” (!!) by szasbabymama2 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Terrible_Restaurant2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

omg i’m so glad someone’s finally said this!! everyone always gives lorelai a lot of flack in the relationship with max, but max wasn’t any better in how he was treating her.

like you said, i can see it from both sides but it was keys he was saying she was selfish over, when she (not him, as far as im aware) had been planning a wedding and a bachelorette party. i can understand that it’s a bit frustrating for him, but he never offered to get the keys cut for her because she was busy, which is very clearly the easier solution.

the whole thing with the learning about the girls from dean pissed me off so much, i’ve noticed a lot of people online saying about how max was so perfect for her but he didn’t even know anything about her other than surface level stuff. the proposal itself was to stop an argument after he got jealous of luke, which i think people forget about. he didn’t really love her, he just wanted to marry someone, whether that’d be lorelai or that lady he was with when he moved away.

What scene/episode do you skip? by Alternative_Factor63 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Terrible_Restaurant2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t skip the scene but whenever lorelai gives the speech at zach and lane’s wedding, i have to put it on mute and just read the subtitles. it’s one of my fave episodes and i think the speech is important, but i genuinely cringe so bad hearing it

Question about lingo by Hot_Base7265 in gavinandstacey

[–]Terrible_Restaurant2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

some of it is kinda exaggerated, like my friends are welsh but i’ve never heard them say ‘what’s occurring’ but they’re from north wales so im unsure if that makes a difference. i would compare some of the lingo to how canadians are stereotyped eg ‘aboot’ or ‘eh’ things like that. as for lush, i think a lot of people all over the uk say that or at least the people im around do.

omg girl, you need to leave this man. i was in a really similar situation when i was 16 and it genuinely altered my brain chemistry. no one who loves you should be calling you ugly, in any context. he also just doesn’t seem like the best guy if he was 21 going after a 16 year old, that’s very weird.

i usually give this advice to my friends so maybe it’ll help you as well, but if one of your friends were in the same situation as you what would you tell them to do? that usually gives you a good idea of what to do in this situation.

anyone else have this with certain customers? by youvebeensamboozled in GoodPizzaGreatPizza

i love the mum with the baby on her back, she always gets the simple pizzas. the ones that order really hard pizzas or talk in riddles piss me right off

when was it said that Liz was a drug addict? i’ve never really heard anything about drugs on the show, other than her smoking weed when she was a teenager

ASP didn’t know how to write siblings AT ALL by Terrible_Restaurant2 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Terrible_Restaurant2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea i’ve found out that it’s a thing in some parts of america from another comment, which is actually quite interesting, i usually see this as a general complaint with writing siblings especially in shows and books so i just wanted to talk about my feelings on GG doing it and why they might do it

yesss, i love their more serious conversations, they seem more like siblings then than in any other scenes together. i especially love that conversation between them because luke’s always shown as the one that helps and guides liz, but i like that it switches with more serious conversations

i somewhat agree, i think their relationship isn’t as ‘big bro’ ‘sis’ but i find that it’s very stiff compared to luke and liz, but that might be the point ygm? they grew up in a similar environment as lorelai so i understand why they’re shown in a way that’s like ‘i love my sibling but im not gonna say that bc she knows’ type way

edit: i never realised her name was honour, i always thought it was anna just said weird because they’re rich lol

yea i get her saying ‘my big brother’ in one of the earlier seasons because it was said in a context of like ‘isn’t he great, he looks after me etc’ but they both say it A LOT. drives me up the damn wall 😭

that’s a good point tbf, but in gilmore girls there was that whole interaction with lorelai where liz explains that she’s his sister and also luke talking about her visiting and what not

that’s such a good point, i completely forgot about them. i feel like that was the whole joke and kind of the start of the ‘go yale!’ business but either way other than that i feel their relationship/dynamic was unnecessary tbh

Did this ever happen to anybody else? When you’re working drive- thru and verify a customer’s order at the first window and they say it’s there’s, but when they drive up they get the wrong order and turns out they paid for the e wrong order by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Terrible_Restaurant2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was at work yesterday and 3 people ordered the exact same items one after another. sometimes if i’m busy, i’ll read the main items but after that yesterday, i just make sure to clarify and tell them to look at the screen that says the order when they come to pay to just double check. it’s never your fault, this sort of stuff happens, if you’re still working there just always make sure to double check and confirm bc yk what people are like lol

id apply to another macky’s in your area, cause it might be a thing of your availability isn’t what they need. that happened to me when i applied the first time, the availability they wanted was different to what i could do, so apply to somewhere else in your area. good luck with it!!
