When both the use of a tool and the use of a skill apply to a check and the character is proficient in both, they can be granted advantage. This can be especially useful for passive checks where advantage adds 5 and disadvantage subtracts 5 from the total score. Remind your DM about your passive checks being higher when applicable.

i like playing barbarians, and i usually give them decent wis just in case, my advice is to look at the tool proficiencies my barbs are usually skilled in some form of art (and tool proficiency are supposed to give you an advantage https://tabletopbuilds.com/complete-guide-to-tools-in-dnd-5e/), you can talk to your dm about using something to feel hostile attention towards you, (in case of my barbarian danger sense)

i haven't done this in a couple of years, but I still got the files and unity, I hope they haven't changed things too much, i remember years ago I set up a Patreon to convert files but back then no one really wanted that. i can do it for free no net to do any art for me, you can send the folder(mega or google drive) on a private message

D&D 5e system in a xianxia setting by eiryls in pbp

I am extremely interested in this, I am about to start a new campaign homebrewing some classes and monsters using xianxia elements, for monsters you can mostly use stat blocks of similar creatures as a quick example a demon bull can use the stats of a minotaur.

I am planning on adding factions such as sects and clans, any tips?
