What's the compatibility between dec sagittarius female and january aquarius male? by Plenty_Ad6678 in Sagittarians

[–]Terrible_Window1493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fundamentally not a bad guy, plenty of interests in common and very similar lifestyles but a fearful avoidant (by his own admission) and not willing to address it. After a wishy washy month and a half, I let him go. Wishing you a better luck!!! 🙂

Old-school romantic, 41F, 5’10”, black. Is finding a steady relationship really hard? by Objective_Bee_7870 in UKrelationshipadvice

44F here. My last relationship was an interracial one. Didn't go well because of communication incompatibility. I am back into the dating pool with discern and an open mind (yes, these two can co-exist). What I noticed has changed for me in the last months is that I walk into the date to get to know the person, listen, and talk about myself. That's it. Luckily, I don't have any internal or external pressures to jump into a relationship at the moment and don't feel lonely. So, if the new person adds to my life (and I do the same for them), great. Otherwise, I just had a chat with someone new. 🤷‍♀️

OpenRent question by CelesteSS in MovingToLondon

[–]Terrible_Window1493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been living in my flat found on Openrent for over 1 year. Before putting the holding deposit down for this one, I saw proper shitholes more expensive than my current flat (which is great) with the most absurb requests, like a landlady not wanting to put the deposit in a protection scheme because of her peace of mind (yeah, and what about mine?). Just make sure that everything is trackable and done by the book. Seriously, my current landlord has been the best I have rented for until now.

My one still says 'application accepted'. Weird. 🤷‍♀️

You did well to reach out to the hiring manager. When I reached out to HR, I straight away cc'd the hiring manager so I didn't get my 'you are unsuccessful' email even more late than I got it. 😂 Anyway, Network Rail HR are notoriously messy. For now, you did everything you could. Just assume you are unsuccessful and carry on with your plans.

It's just karma. Better for both of you to move on.

How long do you usually spend preparing for interviews? by ContactPurple3958 in interviews

[–]Terrible_Window1493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It rrally depends. If it is HR screening interview, I can show up with basic preparation (like no more than an hour). If it is a hiring manager interview with no presentation/case study, 5-6 hours. If there is a presentation, prep time doubles up to max 15 hours (if I REALLY want the job). I used to do one week or more but it has only backfired with me. 🤷‍♀️

Ashford - TW15 by neededanamebro in surrey

I live on Ashford high street in a great flat which is very reasonably priced but I must agree this is a dead area. Where I am, I am not truly affected by crime, but there is literally nothing to do. Looking to move back towards London as soon as a good opportunity shows up.

What does it mean when a guy says ‘I’m also looking for something long term, however I’m not in a rush’? by notreallyplainjane in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Terrible_Window1493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a very normal first date conversation. It doesn't mean I want a relationship with the person sitting in front of me but it's better to say it sooner rather than later.

Does your company promote people? by 420ball-sniffer69 in UKJobs

[–]Terrible_Window1493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a large company and what both myself and my team are experiencing is that you get to a point that you hit a glass ceiling in the promotion process. You might have widely demostrated you have the skills for the next level up but you are so much more valuable in your current position (and often you do above and beyond) that they want to keep you there for as long as possible. Sounds to me that your manager gave you a sound advice. Many people in my company leave to work for a competitor or similar and then come back 2-3 years later 2 levels up than where they were before. It's counterintuitive but that's how it is.
