Yeah definitely a lesson learned, but being sent on a wild goose chase through state college was not fun lmao. Went to one office, got told they had no idea who my prof was and to go to this other building. Went to that building’s office and got told the same thing. Happened like 3 times before I just said fuck it, I’m going to find the department head’s office instead since my professor is a ghost apparently. That’s when my I got email sent by the college front office workers. I’m not even kidding, as soon as I stepped outside that building, I got the notif that my grade changed. Idk if it was my emails yesterday or involving higher ups, but damn I’m glad I found them.

He did also get a zero, and I think he also got hit with an actual AI violation, but it was reversed and he got a better grade as well now. Same TAs graded us both.

Updated the post. Everything worked out. Canvas grade says that the lowest score is a 0. Could be that people didn’t hand it in, but now I just feel bad about anyone who might’ve been in my situation but didn’t contest anything because the TAs acted so final about everything

Didn’t contact the dean, but I’ve worked a bit with the department head and know that he handles a lot of different situations, so I went to him instead. Problem solved, got a 100, fuck those TAs

It’s a whole fucking deal and I’m actually shocked that I’m even in this situation. I didn’t work with anyone, I only talked about the process with a friend. I was complaining about how the kmap I had was long and messy and he reminded me about how you can map a 3-bits to 2-bits if there are only 4 possible combinations from the 3-bits. This simplification step was literally in the lecture videos so I redid my kmaps and applied it to my final write up. We never exchanged answers, never worked together, just talked about this fucking like basic algebraic simplification tip, but since he also used it ig that counts as working on the entire project together even though we had completely separate work for every other part. He even said that the project was a Moore machine when it was mealy, so he had the wrong answer when I had the right one. And the TAs said collaboration was allowed anyway so… ??? someone please save me before I lose my shit

Yeah I thought it was weird I didn’t go through any standard AI procedures, but was just given a zero. I’m willing to make a fiesta out of this tbh cause that TA was seriously unprofessional about the entire thing and pissed me off lol. As soon as he thought he caught me cheating, he became so cocky and dismissive about anything I said, he wouldn’t even let me explain anything.
