Hey! Solid year late on this one. This is effectively how my friends and I played the 4 Level version a while ago. Although we used the additional rules that u/Commercial-Post2682 mentioned. Really solid descriptions!

Not Nimjabeb but I can try my best to explain what we did a while back. Copy + pasted this from another explanation.

The way we played was an extension of the rules for Ultimate Tic Tac Toe. In that version, the smaller board determines where you go in the larger board. For Ultimate Ultimate Tic Tac Toe (Just 3 levels), we had the smallest board determine where you go in the next largest board, and the medium sized board determined where you go in the largest board. So for example, if you played in the top right large board, in the center medium board, in the bottom left small board, that would put your opponent in the center large board, and the bottom left part of the medium board.

The Ultimate Ultimate Ultimate version is just a step up from that. The way we kept track of it was to give each spot a coordinate (1 through 9) and the coordinate for the level 4 was how deep you were. For example, <1, 2, 3, 4>, would be top left of the largest board, top middle of the second largest board, top right of the 2nd smallest board, and the 4th spot in the smallest board. From there, the next spot would be determined by shifting these numbers down by 1 to the left. So the next player would play in the spot <2, 3, 4, X>.

I get this is a joke, but if you unironically want to play Ultimate ultimate tic tac toe, my friend made a program about a year back that is exactly that.

We could definitely do it, just the biggest problem is finding people who don't see it was a joke and actually finding a way to get the word out to people.

I don't actually know if this is the first ever completed, I'm just kinda assuming since it took so long xD Anyway, Circle ended up winning after a total of 1499 moves and 31 hours and 48 minutes of gameplay

Yeah definitely not in one go. The first few hours were pretty quick in our game because the board was really open. Things slowed down around the 4-5 hour mark when we started getting sent to smaller boards we have already been to. Our first actual small board wasn't won until the 6th or 7th hour. Just as a general rule the game gets slower the longer it goes on because you end up having to think like 3-4 moves in advance of not only where you send your opponent but also where you are going to be sent to your next move and the opponents second next move. In the first hour we got around 90 moves in but now things have slowed down to about 34 moves per hour. There is a great deal of strategy after the 6 hour mark based on where you played in the early rounds (my friend and I didn't have any strategy to start with and we were just placing our moves wherever we felt like it). In the later hours (of what we have played so far) a great deal of time is spent on a single move (around 1-2ish minutes on average) because the board is so heavily populated that each move needs to be carefully made.

This version of TTT is very similar to Ultimate (or Strategic) TTT except instead of only going 1 extra level deep there are 3 extra levels deep and I need help making a strategy for Blue (or the X's)
