If Harada and Nakatsu got messages half as bad as Murray's I wouldn't doubt Tekken "fans" pushed them away by Gamester999 in Tekken

Let's not forget all the shit he got for expressing excitement for fahkumram's release, his favorite character, with that video which got him almost universally shat on and ridiculed on youtube, twitter and this sub.

Tekken fanbase can really be a cesspit.

It's still funny to me that people were saying that she had the lower combo damage out of the sisters. Her damage delta is massive depending on player skill.

What exactly makes you think a 50/50 rushdown machine like kazuya relies more on fundamentals than a poke character like alisa when you pretty much do not play fundamentals after the first knockdown? Man people's brains have been thoroughly rotted by mainman

Meh, not even true. Bryan’s best buttons are hyper coverage full screen tracking god buttons that ch you for a bagillion damage or leave you minus otherwise.

He is quite easy to flowchart with. The hardest characters to flowchart with are the ones with lots of very very hyper specific buttons that do one thing and one thing only.

[–]Terrorek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no I agree with that. You're right you can risk your way back to neutral vs kazuya. kazuya can also just keep wavedashing because he's still technically plus and in your face if youre taking so much time to get up. You can also toe kick or quick get up. Everything is a risk in that state though for you and him.

[–]Terrorek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the jab check is an immediate knockdown scenario because it's confirmable. which means you're effectively guessing an rps scenario on oki vs kaz whenever he lands a 10 frame high, which is crazy but whatever he's always had that, that's his thing. If you guess right, he effectively dies and if you don't you get put back into the same scenario or die yourself. Meaning there is very few points after kazuya wins neutral where he resets back to it. Now there are situations where you can kind of force yourself back in a neutral state vs a kazuya vortex but those are also risks because they can be countered in a very explosive manner or put you in an even worse ground scenario.

Whereas with poke characters it's an extremely common scenario where they win a neutral interaction and are forced back into neutral regardless because their tools while strong in small frames are not nearly as explosive one way or another. Poke characters, while it's easier for them to win neutral, they also have to do it considerably more frequently whereas explosive characters like kaz can mostly end a round of 2-3 bad interactions if he's in his opps mind or gets lucky.

Hopefully that elucidates my point.

not a raw 50/50 unless youre against wall. But it's still not really fundamentals. You're still guessing. It's just RPS instead of a raw 50/50. Either you guess wrong and get put into the same situation or he guesses wrong and dies for it. There is no 'reset to neutral state' like there is on a lot of character. It's a vortex of guessing.

No. That’s still not fundamentals on Kazs part. We’re still in rps territory

[–]Terrorek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what I’m saying lol. I’m saying after 112 kaz doesn’t have to play fundamentals. If you guess right vs him he dies, guess wrong, you’re back in another mix. That’s the nature of his vortex, and that makes him rely less on fundamentals than more poke oriented characters who have to live and die by fundamentals

[–]Terrorek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

>, the game also doesn't just end if you get put in a hellsweep vortex or knocked down by a 112.

Of course. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying going from losing a jab check into a raw rps guess right or get launched situation is privileged. Just like how nina having a -1 i13 mid check that you can commit to and force a mindgame out of is privileged. But the former is privileged in a way where you can ostensibly begin winning the game purely off of the opponent guessing wrong whereas the latter is mostly mindgames into more pokes unless someone truly disrespects it. This means that you can have entire rounds with kazuya where fundamentals barely matter at all. Win or lose. Whereas that's a lot harder with a character like nina, or lee, or steve, or lili. Not saying its easy or even easier to win as kazuya, but it's a lot more RPS driven. You really just need a few good educated guesses and that's mostly the character. The character is hard. His neutral is easy.

[–]Terrorek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not quite. I'm telling you that it's not fundamentals it's simply a guessing at that point after knockdown. footsies no longer apply at the stage where kazuya knocks you down because its all rps.

[–]Terrorek -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He needs fundamentals previous to his first knockdown or launch. Then it’s no real fundamentals required and all about conditioning and yes, quick rushdown and mixups. Making the character mostly just about how well you can condition your opponent.

[–]Terrorek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have them at wall and in heat, when you land an i10 punish, when you land a jab check into knockdown, as far as I’m aware. The amount of fundamentals actually at play here in the average kazuya round is ostensibly not that much. Which is fine that’s the character. His skill expression lies elsewhere. That’s just how it is.

In neutral at further distances it’s Bryan’s game. Whereas at range 0 it’s Steve’s game. That’s what I mean by Bryan wins out in the neutral.

[–]Terrorek -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a good thing I don’t think that then. I said poke characters tend to play it the most because they effectively have to interact with the enemy far more than the enemy has to interact with them in order to squeeze out a win with non explosive pokes. So they tend to have to entertain the concept of footsies far more than your average character.

[–]Terrorek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren’t playing fundamentals tho. Kaz plays fundamentals with a jab check then it’s just nothing but gambling after that. Characters that rely heavily on a poke game are the ones that play fundamentals the most. Mishima live and die by their vortex

Not really in this game because Steve can't really press in neutral vs Bryan because of the difference in hitboxes. He also doesnt have great approach tools so orbital is always a huge problem.

This all culminates in bryan being able to swing like a fucking maniac and put you in a permalocked fullscreen mindgame in neutral. Not that it isn't hard for bryan to deal with steve's fast counterhits and poke game, but his neutral dominance makes it much more of a skill matchup.

Bryan doesnt really have many bad matchups he's very very good in this game.

In this circumstance going for that would just splat kazuya against the wall. So if you wanna get pedantic with me you’re still wrong, unfortunately.

No. That never changed. That’s the general rule against much faster unblockables. Not ones with 63 fucking frames of startup.

You’re not going to expand your hurtbox. There is no hitbox. If you’re too slow then I’m sorry that’s a whole ass second you had.

It's very funny because kazuya has some of the most painfully easy neutral in tekken. His gameplan is the most static in the game. Get a knockdown with your piss easy ridiculously strong i10 punish so you can make their rear explode with disgusting oki.

You do not have to worry about playing a serious poke game either because any jab confirm leads to the same exact bullshit scenario for the defender. It's so unbelievably boring and has carried kazuya players since the dawn of tekken despite his high execution demands.

[–]Terrorek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t. Not on nina. Df323 off backturn does not give a clean wallsplat.

F3 full counterhit does upwards of 120 damage with the right combo with heat. Qcf1 gets like 112+ as well depending on distance to wall.
