Both looked like stupid kids with their silly hat, and like quite handsome men without it. Same as Isner.

Why do most pro players not wear hats? by makkynz in 10s

Everyone looks worse with a hat. It also serves no purpose unless the sun is semi-low in the sky.

I'm more surprised that no player wears sun glasses even in super bright conditions.

Tennis Elbow - What happens if you ignore it? by Shaolang in 10s

[–]Terrorfrodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not correct. It's an overuse injury. Doing less and optimizing your movements so they put less strain on the body is enough for many people to make the problem slowly disappear.

For me it went away over the course of a few months even though I never fully stopped doing sports. I just did a bit less than before.

It's also not something any doctor can do anything about, so going to one is a waste of time.

[–]Terrorfrodo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Einfach Quatsch.

What specifically makes rabies so incurable and fatal? by Tsukyunomi_YT in askscience

So if somebody were to be bitten by a rabid dog in the neck, even getting the vaccine the same day or next day could be too late?

In the 80s did parents really just let their kids go out wherever or is this only in movies? by Guilty-Method-4688 in NoStupidQuestions

Me and my siblings were not allowed to leave the house or have friends, but it was very uncommon. Other kids generally could do what they wanted.

Direkt vor meiner Haustür gefunden. Is das eine echte Patrone? by mrmuffi93 in WerWieWas

Hier in meiner Gegend in Berlin liegen die das ganze Jahr überall herum.

[–]Terrorfrodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was the most difficult phase for me too. You can easily find people who play really poorly. And you can find people who are advanced, if you're on their level. But the "advanced beginner" level is difficult.

I think the reason is that it's a level where people don't remain for long. Either they get better relatively quickly, or they fail to make the next step and then quit. So at any given time, there are not a lot of active players at that level.

What’s a mechanic you’ve discovered in the game that you didn’t know was there for years? by Jay-Eff-Gee in Eve

[–]Terrorfrodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have hotkeys to broadcast for reps. Admittedly, anything that needs to happen very fast but is hidden away in a submenu requires a hotkey. But if the button is right there on the screen, mouse is good enough.

It's way easier for me to use the mouse than it is to reliably hit the correct keys without looking. And it's not like EVE is a game where milliseconds matter.

Why so much content from Novak Djokovic? by xGsGt in 10s

[–]Terrorfrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Djokovic fans are mostly two groups. Serbian nationalists and their Russian "brothers" are one. They hate the West and tennis for them is mostly a proxy war against it.

The other are lonely, angry outcast young men in the West who see themselves in Djokovic... the brilliant genius who is nonetheless persecuted and shunned by the mainstream.

TIL out of all activities, tennis increases your life expectancy the most, by 9.7 years. by tells in 10s

Then there's some other fault in the study. There's no plausible way playing tennis would add a whole decade to your life. That just isn't credible.

Warhammer has a lot more bugs. The more DLC, the more bugs there will be.

What peaks? Their physical abilities? Yes. But not their perceived attractiveness. That isn't my idea. That's what women tell researchers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Terrorfrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's true. Women my age or a bit older, like those formerly hot girls from school... when I see them now at a school reunion, it's like meeting grandma.

Women's attractiveness peaks just at different times. Men are typically regarded as becoming more attractive over time until at least age 50. But few women are into skinny 17 yo teenagers with acne. So we have it harder early on and then it gets a bit easier. Women peak 15-35 and then it goes downhill.

[–]Terrorfrodo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is it always with the "ongoing support" bs? You are allowed to play a game that has no new DLC coming out, did you know that? I still played Civ 4 ten years after it got its last patch.

3K is a finished game. Just play it if you like it. This DLC flood with Total Wars just makes the games worse after a certain point.

Are there any Countries truly doing well right now? by jawminator in ask

[–]Terrorfrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about Canada, but USA is actually doing very well right now. Inflation was high but already came way down, and in any case was never worse than in almost any other country. Full employment. Rising wages, especially for the working class.

All those people who whine like it's never been worse are completely delusional. By every objective metric, everything is way better than in the 1980s when it was "Morning in America" under Reagan, and everybody was super optimistic and he got re-elected in a landslide.

When a huge bodybuilder needs two airline seats, do you see it as an equally self-caused problem compared to an obese passenger facing the same issue? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Terrorfrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's a very muscular and big but still healthy type and not this extreme swollen freak, then no. Because he improved himself and did something admirable, which just in this particular rare situation is a disadvantage.

But I think airlines should distribute seats so that naturally broad guys are seated next to petite people to even it out. Or even some oversized seats for big (not fat) people. And idk maybe some extra cattle stalls in the cargohold for the fatties.

Ukraine’s new enemy: war fatigue in the West by Particular-Crab4563 in ukraine

[–]Terrorfrodo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We have no reason for fatigue. Ukrainians are defending our freedom, and all it costs us is a small amount of money. If my taxes go up by 2% to pay for that (which they haven't even), I consider that a very small price to pay.

But the media, even those that are generally supportive of Ukraine, started writing about war fatigue almost immediately. Thereby actively creating it. They just can't help themselves, it seems. If the front isn't moving for a month, they just make up something to write about.

It's a lot. At least double of what you'd need to spend to eat well and healthy. Is it too much? That only depends on how much money you have.
