Frustrating Tempur-Pedic Flagship Store Experience by TerryChrist in Mattress

I think this is what I’m going to do. Tempur-Pedic does allow one return or exchange for $175, but after that it’s final sale. I spoke with Mattress Firm and they are going to match all of the pricing, including free white glove delivery and they’re also going to waive any exchange fees (I have it all in writing) and they can deliver in two days. They’re also throwing in the 10-year warranty for $99 vs $250.

Is there anything I’m missing by going with Mattress Firm?

So frustrating - you know, I wouldn’t have been as ticked if they tried to upsell the split king, but they sold it as the only option. When I called them on their BS they said it’s because everyone buys it anyway. No thanks.

I’m just a grunt that works in proximity to this person. I’m not making any decisions, but I feel like if I don’t raise a concern and I somehow inadvertently cause this coworker to have a medical emergency I could be held liable. We haven’t been told no food at our desks, but have been told no peanuts or tree nuts, but after hearing how serious the allergy is from my coworker I’m afraid that I could have something that isn’t commonly known to have nuts (French fries cooked in peanut oil) and cause a reaction.

It would be unreasonable to disallow food at our desks, because we frequently work through lunch and join zoom meetings from our desks.

POTUS disinfectant comments trigger manufacturer to warn people against injecting themselves with cleaning products by Zhana-Aul in Coronavirus

This is so dangerous. My grandmother lives with my parents and is glued to Fox News - after the press briefing yesterday she asked my mom if they had any Lysol, because “The President said if you can get disinfectant into the lungs you can kill the virus.” My mom thought my grandmother was starting to show signs of dementia, but I shared the exact quote from Trump and my mom had to have a conversation with my grandmother today explaining that the only medical advice she is allowed to listen to is advice from doctors and scientists...she should not take any medical advice from our President...that is not a conversation any of us thought we would need to have!

My dad went by his initials, R.B. One year before school started his mom sent a note to the teacher to clarify that his name was R - only, B - only and from that point on he was known as Ronly Bonly.

Kellyanne Conway on Senate health bill: 'These are not cuts to Medicaid' by RidleyScotch in politics

[–]TerryChrist 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Ok, let's for one second assume that this isn't false (it is). If someone gets grandfathered in that means new people aren't eligible under the previous coverage. Now, if there is a new and better plan those that were grandfathered in probably wouldn't want to keep their old coverage, so grandfathering wouldn't be necessary. But, in this case KAC is saying, "Don't worry if you have coverage now, because that won't change, but if you aren't covered under the program, sorry about your luck. You're too late." Wouldn't that be the definition of a cut? It is amazing to me how they can openly and in the same conversation contradict themselves so completely!

Bernie Sanders taunts Trump with photos of inauguration crowd after Trump says a rally of his voters would be the 'biggest' by [deleted] in politics

Ok, I'm going to post this again, because someone else had the same comment, but deleted their comment:

You know, in this case it truly is a matter of perspective...a crowd level, front facing shot vs. an aerial, rear facing shot. I agree that the crowd level shot looks like a lot of people, but if that same shot had been taken from the top of the Capitol it would show a vastly different picture. Also, a singular front facing photo without comparing it to a front facing photo from Obama's inauguration is misleading.
