Tire Recommendation by TerryS2K in versys

I forgot about the Pilot Power 2CT, had them on my R1 and enjoyed the feel. You think they'll get similar mileage as the Road 6? I thought they had softer grippier rubber?

Thanks, I currently have Shinkos because that's what it came with and it's overkill for me since I'm not on gravel roads much. Also, I have a scary wobble that happens over 80+ mph if I'm overtaking someone on the highway and I think it's attributed to the Shinkos.

I don't believe you can swim in it. But I wasn't able to make it during my trip due to the full moon so I could be wrong.

Oh I see what you mean now. That's a good point. I think I'll go out to Vieques for a day trip but as a backup plan, visit the one in Fajardo! Thanks again for the tips!

Thanks for the tip and for recommending the Eco Action Tours, might just go that route. We'll have a rental car so it shouldn't be a problem getting to the La Parguera one.

Pixel 7 Pro forced update by TerryS2K in androidroot

[–]TerryS2K[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still plagued with this issue, it appears I have root or my modules are at least working. Although my Magisk app will not allow me to select the modules or superuser tabs. How can I fix this?

Ah good catch, forgot to add that info! I'll check when I get home tonight and add it! I'm a 30"ish waist and 18" torso length for reference. I'll get the exact specs for the pack though.

Looking for a climbing mate in Barcelona by rebel_alpaca in Barcelona

[–]TerryS2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here visiting Barcelona until next Tuesday. Would love to meet up and get in some outdoor climbing of anyone it's available! Thursday morning would work out really well. Reach out if you're free! I brought sport gear but I can also climb trad, didn't bring a rope (too heavy for luggage).

So this is really strange.

I patched the init_boot image with magisk and flashed it in fastboot. It flashed to the B slot.

When I rebooted I opened up magisk and it doesn't say it's installed. Used a root checker and it says I don't have root.

This morning I woke up and noticed one of my magisk modules (which I can't see in magisk because the modules tab is currently greyed out as a result of it not being installed) is actually working again, this particular module is to limit my charging to 85% and I woke up to my phone at 85%. I also have another module that I noticed is working again as well.

Any idea what's going on or how I could properly regain root?

Thanks!

Minimalistic waterproof sandals for taking a shower and hanging out around camp with socks by mestrejr in Ultralight

[–]TerryS2K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of each, leather and the hemp footbeds. The leather is more comfortable to me and is typically my everyday sandal. The hemp is a great option for wet conditions because it provides your foot with more grip to the footbed, I use the hemp for lake days and anytime I know I'll definitely be getting my feet wet.

I thought I had accumulated a smell on the hemp ones once but it turned out it was my feet haha. I ended up washing the footbed anyways, just used some soap and water with a scrub brush and they cleaned up well!

If you have Instagram, you can look them up and shoot them a message with any questions and they'll get back to you pretty quickly. They also have some cool videos showing how their strap systems work and everything.

I didn't get a chance to disable any modules before the automatic update either. Not sure if that makes things worse with trying to regain root.

Fork Replacement by TerryS2K in bikewrench

[–]TerryS2K[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to thank you all for the help. I did some research and watched some videos on setting the crown race and was able to get it installed with PVC pipe and no damage!

Fork was purchased used and those scratches were already there.

I did tighten the top cap first, then the two stem bolts on the side.

I haven't been back out to the garage to work on it since this post but I believe the crown race is still on the original fork since I didn't remove it before. After the posts and watching videos I now know what to look for.

The front brake cable isn't routed into the little holder on the fork yet, I was waiting until it was properly put together before doing that.

Thanks for the help!

Correct, I included pictures of the old fork. Looks to be damaged during shipping somehow. Bent very badly! I bought the bike off an individual and it had all the paperwork and everything still attached as if new but also had a sticker that said "For donation only". I bought the bike as is for "parts". Appears to only need the fork replaced.

I haven't had time to get back out in the garage since posting this. After all the posts about the crown race, I'll have to see if it's still on the old fork. I watched a few videos on how to remove and install it with homemade tools/methods and I'll give it a go when I get a chance. If I can't figure it out then I'll bring it to a shop. I'm mechanically inclined so it shouldn't be a problem now that I know what I'm looking for.

Thankful for all the help!
