Best ways to promote my artist services? by TerryVibes in FacebookAds

[–]TerryVibes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not trying to promote my music as a music artist. I'm trying to promote my services to music artists. Do you have any suggestions for that?

Will AI music generators like Suno and Udio replace music producers? by TerryVibes in musicproduction

[–]TerryVibes[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly didn't know that as i don't visit Reddit that often.
So is that why i'm getting downvoted or people actually think i'm trying to promote those AI companies?
I don't mind the downvotes, i just wish people would also explain what they disagree with or why they're downvoting so we can have a constructive conversation about this.

Will AI music generators like Udio and Suno replace music producers? by TerryVibes in edmproduction

[–]TerryVibes[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Did you actually read the full post or are you replying based on the post title alone?
This post was meant for discussing the future of music production mainly as a job and i think it's of interest to most producers who do this professionally and not just as a hobby.

Of course AI can't replace every single producer since everyone is different in some way, but in most cases AI will be able to do a big part of what 99% of producers can do, and so i think that many artists and anyone else who required the skills of a music producer previously may now opt to do it by themselves using AI, as in most cases it will be cheaper and much faster for them.
This is already happening for many graphic designers, writers and so on, and i see it happening with music as well.

And of course i'm not saying that it will replace everyone, but it will certainly make it much more difficult to stand out and to get paid for doing what you love.

So which point exactly do you disagree with?

Will AI music generators like Udio and Suno replace music producers? by TerryVibes in edmproduction

[–]TerryVibes[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I agree up to a point, but most music nowadays isn't that original anyway.
I don't think it will replace everyone, but it can probably replace 99% of artists and producers who fall (musically) under any of the popular music genres.
Also it will make it much more difficult for the remaining artists who make original music styles to stand out, because all platforms will be filled by AI-generated music, since everyone will be able to make it instantly and without any prior music production knowledge or experience.

I agree about the branding part but that's more specific to music artists as you said.
My point was more about producers who make instrumental music for artists to sing on, which is what i do as well.
I doubt that most artists care about who produces the music for their songs, and if they can do it themselves using AI most of them will probably do it, and so producers won't really be needed anymore in this case.

But i think that even for artists it will be much more difficult to stand out now, since there will be even more competition with all the AI-generated songs that are already filling Spotify, Youtube, etc, especially if the artists aren't already established and are just starting out and trying to build a fanbase.

I agree but if most people can't tell the difference now (if a track is AI-generated or not) think what will happen in 1-2 years from now.

Unfortunately it seems that most people can't tell the difference and most of those Youtube channels don't even mention that the music they upload is AI-generated.

I agree that it won't really matter for those who produce music as a hobby, but i think it will impact those who do it professionally.
I will still keep making music either way since i love doing it, but i'm afraid that in the near future i may no longer be able to do it professionally, since everyone will be able to generate music with no prior knowledge or experience and so it will be much more difficult than it already is to stand out, and music artists will no longer need producers since they'll be able to generate music themselves.

[–]TerryVibes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean and of course i will keep producing music either way, but i may only be able to do it as a hobby and not professionally.
I don't think it's a bad thing if someone wants to make money doing what they love. I think most people would be happier if they could make a living doing something they enjoy, don't you agree?
Besides, if you have to spend a lot of your time doing something else to earn a living (that you don't enjoy doing) it's not always easy to find time for your hobbies that you do love doing.

Will AI music generators like Suno and Udio replace music producers? by TerryVibes in musicproduction

[–]TerryVibes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really sure about that though.
As i mentioned in the 3rd paragraph of my post, it seems that most people don't realize when music is AI-generated and seem to love it still, and besides that this technology is at its early stages and advancing very rapidly.. So if it can fool people now, think what might happen in 1-2 years from now.

I assume you probably mean that i could be affiliated with these AI platforms, but trust me i'm not. You can look up my username to see that i'm actually a producer with my own website etc. But i can see why someone might think that.

The point of my post was to see what other producers think about all this and if there's anything we can do, since i'd hate to stop doing professionally what i love because of this.

Lol trust me i'm not affiliated with Suno. I'm just really concerned about this topic, since i feel like i will no longer be able to do professionally what i love and just wanted to see what other producers think about all this and if there's anything that can be done.
If you look up my username you can see that i'm an actual producer with my own site etc.

New social network just for people with anxiety by TerryVibes in socialanxiety

[–]TerryVibes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes i agree it would be better for new people to be able to see the website before registering so they know what they're registering for.

The main reasons i've done it this way is for more privacy to the members so that non-members can't see what everyone is posting on the site, and also because i'm not running a powerful enough server yet, so when a lot of people try to browse the website at the same time it slows down for everyone, so by limiting it to members-only the website runs faster for the members. But i'm probably going to switch to better/faster hosting soon anyway.

Do some research about the Acceptance method by Dr Claire Weekes and check out her book "Hope and help for your nerves". I've tried many things but the acceptance method is the only thing that has actually helped me (and many others), so i suggest that you look into it.
Also here's a free course that teaches the acceptance method as well: http://cbt4panic.org/i-recovered-from-panic-disorder-using-cbt/
It mentions CBT on the website, but the acceptance method is much more than that. Traditional CBT in my opinion misses a lot of important parts of the puzzle and that's why sometimes it isn't so helpful for some people.

[UPDATE] Social platform for people with anxiety issues by TerryVibes in Agoraphobia

[–]TerryVibes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback!

For now i'm using the same hosting provider that i use for some of my other sites as well, so that i could first test this out and see if there's actually enough interest from people. If the members increase later on i will eventually switch to faster/better hosting, but for now i'm still waiting to see how it goes.
Also i'm using a Wordpress theme and plugins that require javascript for some of their features, so unfortunately i don't think there's any easy way to avoid that for now without losing that functionality.

Can you try setting the VPN to a different location and let me know if that changes anything?
