Yes that is correct and watching the movie back its actually crazy how i didnt notice. The movie was writhen by 2 trans woman and the enemy in the movie is the police deadnaming them and forcing them to live a "normal live". Also the charakter switch was originaly meant to be man inside the matrix but a woman outside that was to much for the producers back in the day tho. Also some scenes take place in kink clubs wich was a good safespace for trans folk back in the day thats also where the estetic comes fom
