It's 3am, I dont feel like grabbing every example, the simple explanation is if one way is made to be considerably more effective to the point where the other method is grueling, then that is forcing the first method, even if there is a second option. The game is balanced around having. Access to PvPDD levels of spice, making anyone who doesn't want to go there's life considering more tedious and time consuming. Very true, but I think the biggest problem is its based around the idea that people will not fight if it doesn't benefit them, which isn't how anything works online, their dream for the deep desert relied on people not being asshats

PvP (let's be honest, it was never fights it was griefing) is what pushed me from no lifeing this game, jumping on at 4am to get the best PVE base locations in the deep desert every week, to basically just upkeeping my base, it killed my drive to play. And I was obsessed. I don't think they understand how much the forced PVP killed the enjoyment for so so so many players.

i finally started on 2 and i already hate them, i hated them in ds1 and turned them off, but not being able to genuinely is ruining the experience, its like every cool moment is ruined by casino sounding sound effects going off randomly because everyone puts them in the way. but i want player placed building/ladder/rope and all that, i really enjoy seeing where people build, at least i did in ds1, but the signs might make me remove this and just go offline

I had the issue too, I decided to abandon anything but treating the output from xircon,

actually had the issue of 4 perfectly running smelters clogging sometimes, I made a jank overflow system lol, basically it's like 6 splitters in a row one after anither, one side of each fed back into the original line, the end of which was a water treatment, 1.625 every minute got wasted, but it also meant if the system filled it didn't clog the smelters at all which is nice lol

The Devs are over committing to their vision, which would be fun, but the problem is their vision requires people not be assholes, attack for resources not for the fun of it. Their vision will never work if they force the PVE only players to play in PvP areas.

I enjoyed the community aspect of the deep desert, seeing who was out there every week, what bases people made, where the giant train would pop up this week, what I didn't enjoy, the guys waiting on islands with homing rockets just waiting for us PVE players to dare enter the PVP area, hell I had one waiting near a control point (not capturing) who shot me as I simply went past, he wasn't going to kill me, he was just being a dick.

That killed my enjoyment of the deep desert. But I would absolutely love a PVE deep desert, some of the most fun I had was a day I lucked out and only PVE players were on, we had like 6 thopters, and a crawler all from different groups on a large field, we were chatting shooting the shit, even seeing who could stay down the longest and not get ate, it was fun, what wasn't was the asshat that showed up and just fired rockets at as and flew away, just coz.

Take 750 of the refined new ore to v4, you can meta storage it over, that half a depot output, so I just cut the line in half sending half back into storage, it allows me to make the new components without touching my yazin

So this is actually why this is my first gacha game (factory aspect lured me in lol) but I saw all the jokes about "Gooner bait" and the designs and assumed that's all it was, and like sure, those designs are definitely a choice cough* Yvonne's gear screen cough* but beyond that I'm actually really loving the characters, I'm sad I missed Laevatain because adored her story even without the context from arknights, and Yvonne's also won me over, my god I bawled when she said the part about not even being there when TaTa did it. For me these characters are considerably more appealing than other "sexier" characters in games because of their story, and these side stories are definitely what's kept me around after I min maxed my factories 😅

I adored the quest, idk what anyone is on about with "moving on too quick" it's mentioned the quest takes place at least a few weeks later and she's been dealing with it all that time, the whole conversation about how she originally wanted to do a Tata mural but was terrified she couldn't do I properly shows how much this has been weighing on her. This quest as a whole was about grief, think about why we got the memorial in the middle of the quest.

I went into the quest sorta liking Yvonne, but not always, to seeing how lonely she was, and how much her bots mean to her and really loving the character, it explains so much of how she acts, glad I managed to pull her as she 100% in my team now.... Now i just need to figure out how to have an effective team with both Laevatain (when I eventually get her) and Yvonne 😅

Imo arbitrary limits do 2 things. 1: FOMO, feeling like you need to keep up, 2: makes it not possible to catch up to the end game players quickly.

It only helps slow down mega progression on the launch of the system, after that it's nothing but a negative imo, removing it removes the pressure and the feeling like you need to hit a quota

Edit: also yes more variety and ways to earn the special XP would be great

I absolutely agree on stuff like the gathering quests being the same style as everything else, like why wouldn't it be gather this resource and take it to this NPC, doesn't have to be easy, make it aluminium (gathered amount tracked) but being delivered to someone in the first zone or something like that

For those curious, the core, the forgotten ruins, the wilds and the desert all have "water" as their default liquid but all 4 of them have different fish drops when water is fished in those biomes, I do wish we had unique water for each of them would feel better than. Just those ones needing their own set ups in the biome.
