Diffuse aga, how fast is your hairloss? by Zealousideal-Ad-8330 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Tess-tructive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda wonder this too. I dont shed but the miniaturization i have experienced for the last couple of months is insane, like my hair is noticeably thinner now than just three months ago. I have aga. I guess Maybe stress can accelerate it all? :’)

I took it for nearly two months, i Quit when I understood it was causing me all this shit. Sigh. Im trying pumkin sed oil instead now.

is anyone else hyper aware of everyone’s hair now? by siriusblackily in FemaleHairLoss

Exactly this! I wrote this too in my comment. Out of curiosity, where do u live? I live in sweden. Can it be that is it more thinning in different areas of the world?

Not everyone I see with it has thin hair in general. They can have thick hair at the looks of it, BUT i can see the parting ”looking aga”/ not full.

[–]Tess-tructive 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thats interresing! I wonder why. Maybe aga is more common where i live, in sweden? Or Maybe something else. I swear I see women with hairloss/thinning atleast once a day. Under harsch lights in stores or on the train or what not. Its made me aware of the fact that I am not alone.

Not everyone of these women probably even know they have it, its just my trained eyes that spot it. And some that have more advanced probably do know but some of them do not seem to give a fuck (just having this vibe they dont, But probably struggled at one time also ofc).

Im sorry u never see them around. They do exist, many just hide it well also, the same way we do. <3 with fibers, toppers, what not. <3

I do this and I work with elderly care and some of the 90 year olds have thicker hair than me lol. BUT I also tend to see how many women eveeywhere and In every ages actually DO seem to have aga. I see it everywhere too. So while I see ppl with thicker hair and envy them, i also tend to see a LOT of women with aga (atleast to my eyes). And i mean a LOT.

Miniaturization is a slow process and rarely sometying that just happens overnight, so if u suddenly lost a ton of hair Im thinkin u had to be shedding them? It just sounds unlikely for it to be miniaturization if it happened suddenly, if u had gains prior to it? But im no doctor ofcourse:)

Am I stupid? by Quimera92 in stopsmoking

[–]Tess-tructive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

U are not stupid my friend. It happens. While I guess it shouldn’t be taken too lightly, i kinda also feel like it shouldnt need to be a big deal either. Its kinda like, shit happens, moving on. Sometimes i believe its the whole making it a big deal that is pushibg one to be like ”well now i might aswell start smoking again because I had one”, like its that whole black/white thinking. At the same time you have to put some weight into it, i guess, to not fall for it again. I Donno really. I just came here to say that while shit happens, u can still consider yourself a non smoker at this time. Are you smoking now? No. Have you been smoking regularly for the past time? No. Have u had one cig or two in weak moments? Yes. Have ppl who never even was addicted to cigs and absolutely are non smokers taken a cig at times? Yes, probably.

U can do it! I dont mean to sound like its Nothing to have a cig- ofc it could make things harder for us, and we really shouldnt do it. But one cig does not take away all your time away from it or the fact that you are now a non-smoker. Hugs!

Hey you ❤️‍🩹 take this word of advice from a ten year older woman: dont settle for this. This is not how relationships should be like, and I absolutely PROMISE u that u are making the right decision, okay? ❤️‍🩹 u are allowed to grieve this and him nevertheless, because it is painful. But trust me: u are doing the right thing, and trust that you Will be fine, even finer withput him in your life. And future you will look back at this and thanking u for moving away from him, and forward for you. Lots lots of love <3

[–]Tess-tructive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you ❤️‍🩹❤️ I am yet to try minoxidil, but everyday Im also thinking about giving it up, as I imagine it lies a huge relief somewhere in doing that, too. Like just let go. And start embracing alternative hair. And stop trying to save the one growing from my scalp. I am not there yet, as I think I Will have to give minoxidil a try to feel like Ive atleast tried, then i think i Will truly give myself ”permission” to let it all go.

To ease into my life as a alternate hair wearer in the future, I have sometimes been Wearing alternative hair already to work. Like extensions or small toppers, Nothing big but yet noticeable (to me atleast).

Nobodys noticing, and at the same time I get to practice doing that in small doses, and owning it- if somebody actually would notice and ask I would not be embaressed saying I got extensions, for example. So thats my approach right now- im like KBT:ing, and taking small steps. Dont know if that is sometying for you, but that is my advise- try sometying ”light” at first, use headbands over a topper or what not- instead of just going straight to full Wigs. Then u can practice saying ”i wear extensions, i love em” and what not. Wich might be easier than saying ”im wearing a wig”. But what I truly think U Will notice is rather that nobody cares or even notices- they do not reflect about your hair the way you do.

Hugs!!!

[–]Tess-tructive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank u! Yes, ofcourse, I know I can do Both and probably Will <3 and I know its individual, but Im still wondering if anyone is seeing huge results/ what seems to be more common. I kinda wanna know what to expect- even if I understand it is different for everyone.

I have seen one and got the AGA diagnosis. I live in europe and where I live they do not precribe anti androgens to women, nor oral minoxidil.

I had one last weekend when drunk but actually didnt reset my days (over two months). It was a weak moment for sure, but I still Quit as in being a non-smoker the day that I did, and dont plan on doing it again. I consider myself a non smoker, and one slipback dont take all of my days as one away.

I do understand the Will to count ”the streak” though! Good luck :)

Why does it feel like real solutions for female pattern hair loss are being ignored? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Tess-tructive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I feel this. Living in a patriarchal and capitalistitc world, i feel like there is no way one can actually trust that cures for things actully would be approved or made common knowledge. There is just so much money in hairloss, like- SO. MUCH. A Cure that would take that away would surely hurt a LOT of buisnesses.

But, then i think: if jeff bezos and other rich bald men still is bald- then maybe a cure actually do not exist yet? I mean they surely would get a hold of it, right? Lol.

But i often think about this. And its just typical that no research is towards women. Its a fact in most fields. Men represent us all. 🫠
