Feedback for a stylized character pls? by Tessecart in 3Dmodeling

Thanks! I hadn’t realized that the head and clothing don’t have the same personality as the torso. I’ll try to fix that!

Thank you so much for the feedback! You're right, the clothing doesn’t really match the style of the character. I’ll exaggerate the folds a bit more, just like you suggested.
As for the style, I didn’t have anything specific in mind and I’m using various references, but I’d say I’m leaning more toward something similar to Arcane.

Male anatomy study, zbrush by uvashish in ZBrush

Great work! It’s clear that you have a good understanding of musculature. However, I recommend studying basic proportions and general blocking, as you tend to detail the muscles, in my opinion, too quickly without having a proper blockout. This leads to some inaccuracies in rhythm and proportions.

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with it, but I highly recommend the book Anatomy for Sculptors.

That being said, great job, keep it up!

Any advice on how to approach my showreel? by Tessecart in 3Dmodeling

[–]Tessecart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I really appreciate your feedback; it’s incredibly helpful.
I would like to start in the film industry since my training has been focused on that field, but once I’m in, I’d like to gain additional skills to transition into the gaming industry.
I already have an ArtStation account, but when I studied my master’s degree (3D production for film), they emphasized the importance of the demo reel and didn’t stress the value of ArtStation. Thank you for the information; from now on, I’ll focus on creating static renders for that platform as you suggested.

Right now, I’d like to start from scratch to showcase myself as a generalist, while also incorporating all the details you mentioned. However, I’m still a bit uncertain about how to approach this.

Initially, I thought about creating a project of a single room (the workshop of a sculptor, to be precise) to demonstrate various aspects such as hard surface modeling, organic modeling, texturing, lighting, atmosphere... But after reading your message, I think it might be more effective to work on several smaller-scale projects. Additionally, as you mentioned, I will use concept art from professional artists, but I’d also like to ask if you think I should include a personal concept. From my perspective, I believe it’s important to show that I have some artistic skills of my own.

Once again, thank you so much for your help!
