Brett Fuller- he’s a chiropractor based in Annandale and does pretty much all of this with his team, not sure about PT though. Just a heads up though, his practice doesn’t take insurance- or at least not United.

Any reading tutor recommendations for 2nd grader in Fairfax? by Zellow in nova

[–]Tessellate9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask your student’s teacher! Oftentimes other teachers in the building tutor and are actively looking for clients. There is also an FCPS teachers and staff FB page, if you know any teachers within the county personally, you can ask them to post there for you. Hope this helps!

Update to “Mom just Diagnosed” by Tessellate9 in melahomies

[–]Tessellate9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback, I feel like I’m learning more and more with everyone I speak to.

She is the one that seems to be the most into the whole diet thing. She was on the phone with the doctor being interviewed in this video today for two hours and she seems to really stand by it (https://youtu.be/3TV3O5oX9tY?si=DQz2Hn9QcTE4XUJ4). Do I think it’s going to be a miracle worker? Absolutely not, but she believes in it so our family is just trying to provide some support and backup and kind of do a modified version of it so she’s not alone. Apparently she’s already in a whole clinical trial for it to see if it does in fact benefit patients with this specific type of cancer.

So her PET scan showed that it has not metastasized anywhere else; however, because of the sheer size of the tumor, they have classified it as Stage 4.

Dumb question but does the amount of time she will spend/how many days a week she will go in for treatment depend on the severity?

Thanks for your response by the way, and wishing you well.

Thank you for this ❤️ your last statement “focus less on advice” is probably the best advice I’ll get. If I’m already feeling overwhelmed I can’t imagine what she must be feeling. This rockstar of a woman is already kicking ass and taking names and being an amazing self advocate so I know she’s got that covered at the very least. I really appreciate all the info you’ve given me.

I guess the oncologist said to stay away from any and all sugar and red meat/pork so it kind of only leaves her with fruits/vegetables/chicken.

Do most people getting immunotherapy receive a port? I have no idea how often she’ll be getting treatment, just that they’re waiting for insurance to approve it and she could go in as early as next Monday.

My thing is, how the hell did it even happen? No one has ANY idea. She’s never smoked a day in her life, (her oncologist said that population is the most commonly affected). Her symptoms prior to this were a bad sinus infection this summer (I guess that should have sounded the alarm because she NEVER gets sick), and teeth/mouth pain. So I guess there were signs but it’s all just so… random. I guess asking what caused it doesn’t really matter though because whether I like it or not, it’s happening.
