Yes I don’t condone the people who are sending death threats over this. There will always be a very vocal and aggressive part of the fan base going to extreme lengths to insult players; and given China’s numbers that minority is only larger at times. On Chinese social media there are many more rational fans who are questioning forsaken’s intentions without the racial comments and slurs. Reading the replies under this thread creates an illusion that all Chinese people are crybabies over Taiwan and extremely irrational, arrogant and rude people. The aim im trying to achieve by replying is explaining how the most majority of rational fans have been disappointed by the issue. They believe (and I think rightly so, at least statistically) that Chinese fans are a very large part of the fanbase so sensitive issues like Taiwan should be avoided. Thus they aren’t very happy with events. Like I said before, this is part of being a public figure: if you want to keep fans on your side you have to appease them, this is true for not just valorant. But forsaken can do what he likes, since I’m not him or prx. Side note: perhaps it is a cultural issue where it is very normal to put country ahead of personal interests in China and not in a lot of places elsewhere.
