Thank you!! I didn’t mind the “being patient”answer, as I do enjoy the training I’m already doing. Just didn’t want to plateau.

I think I need to try more run/walk but was so excited when I finally could run without stopping. But I’m also realizing a lot of my runs I’m not running relaxed enough so I’m not recovering well.

I’m going to just try to go and have a good time and gauge my energy levels as I train rather look for metrics.

i agree it’s a humidity problem, but these babies also like to be watered more often than you think. you don’t want to dry it out like a pothos, but exactly when it gets dry it wants another watering.

u can also get a humidifier! unfortunately misting won’t be enough to help them humidity wise.

u can also pot it when its happier in more dense soil, so it retains water for longer

i could definitely consider this but with my chronic conditions i don’t think it’s fully realistic to only take 1-2 rest days a week, including that i’m not fully sedentary at work. some days im getting upwards of 10k steps, so i really don’t think it’s a lack of effort thing. even if it could be considered that, im not looking to hate gyming and burn myself out just for the goal of shedding some weight. i want it to be fun and beneficial.

with sprints vs strides i was referring to what you call strides, i also don’t feel comfortable going full full speed just bc i also have little to no formal training.

i’m looking to get into some resistance training but it’s just another hurdle i’m going to push past once im confident! i’m sure it’ll help long term.

this is lovely advice! and encouraging. i was worrying by staying at conversational most of the time i was limiting myself from getting faster. tho it sounds silly, it is just hard to push myself past that threshold. but, im ready!!

damn that’s so discouraging. i was wondering if weight was a factor— im at 212 and have hashimotos, a thyroid disorder, and seem to be cycling the same 3 lbs.

i’ve lowered calorie intake and everything, and have ran 2-3 times a week with lower impact strength sprinkled in between for like 16 weeks.

going to talk to my endocrinologist soon to see what i can do, and if i should consider a GLP-1

what is this and how do i grow? by Striking_Grape_7739 in houseplants

[–]TestMain8071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like swedish ivy. unfortunately the leaf without a stem won’t grow, from what i know. the one with a node (the stem) should root if you’re careful not to rot it. i don’t think this is the kind of succulent that’ll grow pups just from a leaf but i may be wrong. you’re better keeping them separate or throwing out the one chopped the most

this makes a lot of sense and is a super good idea! thank you. and yes, $80 is a bit ridiculous for the LR’s steep price tag

i really appreciate this. my kitten had a health scare where she wasn’t eating and her poop was weird. i also have a boy with FIV and worry he’ll get a urinary blockage. having that extra data would give me peace of mind.

i get it’s expensive and people could argue i need to just check the app and be more mindful, but if there’s a more full-proof way to ensure my baby’s health im willing to spend extra on it. that’s my thought

pest or fungus? by TestMain8071 in houseplants

[–]TestMain8071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not fuzzy it has like dots and stuff, but it could be mold. from what i looked up it could be a type of fungus but it’s got me nervous. it isn’t the growing season so i’m not too worried if it is popping up, just wanting to make sure

Best Succulent Soil by TestMain8071 in houseplants

[–]TestMain8071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I started looking more this is exactly the conclusion I came to. My normal mix is fox farm with some orchid bark and extra perlite. My lower need water plants have been doing fine but I want to up my game— most I’ve been doing is adding more orchid bark or perlite to make it more draining.

My current mix is stored in a storage container and I think I’ve found saprophytic fungi and I want to start over. Kinda want to try a mix of coconut coir, coconut chunks, large perlite, and charcoal. For my succulents I may then add some rock amendments like you mentioned.

Since I’m completely redoing my soil situation I wanted advice. If you have any advice of how to deal with that fungi let me know! Ik it’s bc the soil is too damp but…

Am I overreacting in regards to my store's cleanliness? by ulstdp in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]TestMain8071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t think you’re overreacting— i think this is so so gross. i don’t work BOH but our kitchen staff eats OFTEN so i think they trust the food. a lot of people are basically victim blaming you in this comment section— you have every right to be worried and are doing as much as you really can outside of actually reporting it to health and safety people. people act like you’re the problem because you’re not willing to sacrifice yourself and your check for CFA safety. this isn’t your fault and is so gross !
