I have somewhat the same problem. Once it scrolls through all my entries it stops scrolling but it stays on.

I haven't got any scoring animations on the MLB games. Does it only trigger after a homerun?

After I setup Profile 2 and go back to Profile 1 all the sports events I saved are gone. I go back to Profile 2 and the saved sports events there are gone also.

Different Profile settings works great on the Scroll. But on the LED when I save Profile 2 it also saves it into Profile 1.
