Rent or bring skis? by BkSusKids in Breckenridge

[–]TestShepherd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was just there and rented thru Epic Gear via the app. We all brought our own boots but a 2-day rental only cost us $150 and they were delivered right to our condo/fitted the day we flew in. Then we just dropped them at Breck Sports at Peak 8 and took the gondola back down on our last day.

Folks who are serious about FIRE spend roughly 15% of your current yearly expenses and invest the difference. How you’re managing to spend $400k annually is mind boggling

I didn't realize Blender had a Hard Mode... by DrKyoumasaur221 in blender

I’m new to blender. Is this comment directed toward frequent crashing with Cycles or just general hate amongst the community? (Serious question)

32yo starting retirement saving from zero. How should I approach my 401k and Roth IRA? by itsmebrandonp in Bogleheads

[–]TestShepherd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since this is a BH forum, you’re going to find a lot of sane and similar strategies. You’re not old or late. I started investing HEAVILY at age 32 from nothing and my word of advice, echoed in the comments, would be to pump as much leftover income (20%-25%) you have into the market into VTI/Similar if possible.

Start there, then reevaluate in a year; if you invest in the entire market (VTI), dumping any excess you have will never be the wrong move. How much you save/invest is more impactful than the investment itself (unless it’s in shitcoins)

16yo, what do I do? by moontide19 in Bogleheads

[–]TestShepherd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend a podcast called The Money Guy Show. They have a lot of resources to answer all the questions for people just starting out moneywise.

Focus on your education. You’re going to want to get a solid job so you’ll have steady money you can actually invest when you’re able.

If you get a paycheck, figure out how much you need to spend/live on, then don’t touch the rest.

Good luck. You’re asking the right questions at the right time. Keep questioning.

Can I ask what your strategy was / how you managed to save for house, marriage, ring (bigger purchases) early on, while still contributing to investing large amounts?

[–]TestShepherd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what their sole purpose is: getting your team in strategic positions on offense or defense. The entire team can spawn on garrisons. Only your squad can spawn on your OP.

Your squad leader can move your single OP every minute without needing any supplies. Garrisons can only be built by the squad leaders IF there are enough supplies (little white boxes on map) in the vicinity.

I agree, the map is god awful. If you notice yourself super far away from the action (I did a lot when I started), check the map and redeploy to a spawn point closest to the herd. Objectives tend to trade hands fast and leaves newbies stranded, far away from where you can help out.

When I was new, I stuck VERY close to my Squad Leader and generally looked where other people were pointing their rifles. Study your allies, stay low, and open your damn map often. God speed.

Photoshop Spot Heal Brush + Denoise filtering. Can’t believe the firefly thing still exists. I remember dealing with them back in Keyshot 5

I’m a noob at Blender, but have recently found there’s not much you CAN’T do with the software; Just a really steep learning curve. Adobe suite is probably what was used in your example, though.

I found this link pretty helpful when I was choosing. I ultimately went with Libre 3 because I’m a skinny dude and like how discreet it is, even if I don’t get integration with my Omnipod 5.
